Well...
The reason I weighed my standard wheels is because I was fitting some Hunts.
I weighed the Hunts at 908g front/ 1066g rear so 1974g without the valves and Lockrings (centrelock) so they came in a bit heavier than expected.
Even so, to me its still a noticeable change in how the bike...
I happened to weigh mine on Saturday at 987g front/ 1245g rear for a total of 2232g.
That's with Shimano Mt510 hubs. I've seen reports of different hubs being supplied owing to supply chain issues so yours might differ from mine.
STride app will give you an exact percentage.
Also, the blue led on the charger stays solid once its full. It steady flashes when its powered up but not connected and gives a breathing/ fading effect when it's charging.
No. It'll be fine.
I'm fairly sure that 99% of 'ebike specific' stuff is exactly the same but marketed differently towards ebikes.
OK, some stuff like forks are made built from thicker, cheaper steel and sold for the same price but there's nothing stopping you running non ebike forks.
Fit it...
Mess really isn't an issue once you're used to it. I swapped my tyres onto new wheels at the weekend. The tyres came off with the sealant still in. Fitted to new wheels without soiling a drop.
The decided to give a Dissector a go instead of the DHR2 so pulled the tyre off, decanted sealant...
I've got those bars on my hardtail. They're excellent.
I want some for my Rise but can't decide whether I want the higher rise bars this time. Its an expensive experiment if I don't like them 🤣
Didn't remove the tape but it's usually 5-7g per wheel? Definitely not 75g per wheel.
It doesn't feel as thick as Stans and thats about 5g per wheel I think.
I'll pull the tyres and tubes tomorrow and if its still not stuck, I'll pull it off and weigh them without.
This week... A pair of Hunt Trail Wide wheels.
I'd been eyeing up new wheels for a while but the decision making process was cut short when the rear wheel decided to eat the rear mech.
Little bit disappointed that they weight 150g more than advertised.
1831g on the website, 1974g in the...
Not a bad idea!
Usually, I hang it in a workstand using one of those false cross bar thingies but I needed a way to get the forks off that didn't involve balancing the bike and handlebars precariously on cardboard boxes of whatever was lying around.
The whole time I was building it, all I...
Thule Outway is probably the best for an ebike.
Depending on what car you have, you might struggle to find a normal rear rack that fits and can (safely) take the weight.
I tried a normal style rear carrier on my Superb and wasn't happy with how it sat. I could just about make it work by...
Built, not bought.
I know right, something of that quality can't be home made, surely!
If homer Simpson did bike stands...
Needed something to hold the bike while the fork is off and had some scrap wood...
I'll consider this mk1 and a success.
Yeah, I've seen the thread on MTBR and will give the shim stack a little make over when I get around to servicing the fork.
Coincidentally, I've been making myself a stand to hold the bike so I can take the fork off easily so hopefully I'll get around to servicing it soon.
It still feels...
Another thumbs up for the Mezzer Pro. I had the same idea about trying it at 160 but it's so good at 150 that I don't think I'll bother. The IRT makes the fork genuinely amazing. I'm on the lighter end of the scale for the damper though and even running it wide open sometimes feels a little...
I'm amazed that you're able to ride anywhere on an Ardent Race in the winter!
I love mine in the summer but winter for me was basically just wheelspinning on the spot and then falling off sideways.
If you like the tyre, go for the same. I think you've been unlucky with the tree thing and...
Unless it's specifically rated for ebikes, or rather bikes which weight 25kg then I'd be wary of doing it.
Who makes the rack? Do you know the model? Some of the Thule ones are rated to 46kg which would (probably) be enough to cover the load of the 2 bikes. They usually have a max weight per...
