Hi Colin, welcome to the forum - see you've just joined. Sorry to hear that your motor is noisier than expected - suggest you head over to the thread on motor noise and see in particular post 38 and 109 where we explain that some motors are indeed affected by a noise issue. There's no safety...
Thanks for reaching out. The motor firmware looks up to date but battery firmware is 1 version older than currently available. If you take it back to the retailer you purchased from and ask them to update the firmware this will make small but noticeable changes to the way the battery interacts...
There is no risk of over-heating by closing the gap here. The motor will automatically de-rate itself if it reaches a certain temperature, allowing it to cool naturally - it's part of the Brose design so you cannot damage it like this.
Please note that as others have commented there is a lot of...
Great thread. One learning we've come across when using sintered pads (specifically useful to eBikes) is that when metal dust comes off the pads under braking it is naturally attracted to anything magnetic. For most brake pads/rotors this is a small amount - however under heavy braking with some...
Thanks Nando, it's really hard to say for sure but given the breathing sounds I can hear on the video the overall volume seems pretty reasonable and the motor noise within normal bounds to me if this is under full load. The challenge is that recording levels & recording devices aren't always as...
In our experience the Brose Drive SMag (2.1) is comparable but if anything just slightly louder than the Brose Drive SAlu (1.3). Both are quiet motors and if you are hearing a night & day difference between the two it is likely you have a noisy motor which can be replaced under warranty...
The good news is that we can improve this for you - your bike just needs a firmware update from the retailer.
Display firmware should be at least 19b and motor firmware 6.1.0. When we started production some months ago the available motor firmware did not support Shuttle mode - hence each bike...
Sorry to hear this - can you post the display, motor and battery firmware versions please? Let's ensure that you're at the latest version first - then we can investigate further.
This rubber washer was used for shipping the battery only. When the retailer installed the battery it must have remained lodged between the rock-guard and the battery. Not harmful - but throw it away and don't try to install on the bike.
Thanks for asking. Key point here is that these are small running changes, we consider them cosmetic and you shouldn't be too concerned about them. Yes, these are available via authorized retailers.
Sponges will be available to retailers around the end of November/early December depending on...
Planned functionality, Mission Control is capable of doing this. No dates yet though - this naturally needs considerable design and testing before releasing. Keep you posted.
Update on this one: I checked with our product team and the factory sponge is just as easy to retrofit. Sorry for adding confusion, I've edited my original post above. The sponge we use in the factory has a small hole through the middle to keep it in place between the motor inserts during the...
See bolt with blue dot below for a rough position, it reduces the gap/likelihood of debris getting in rather than adding support. These two running changes occurred at initial build - will check dates.
Fully understand your question, two comments. 1) We regularly make tweaks and subtle improvements to current products, that doesn't mean we officially label these as short-comings . 2) Whilst the parts are easy for us to supply, fitting the cover involves removing the motor and it's not a...
Karsten - give me a few days on the Levo HT. Will find out. With regards IP rating, the Brose Drive S Mag is rated at IP56 (see Find out more about our Drive S Mag for mountain bikes). The IP rating system isn't hugely intuitive, but Wikipedia is directionally helpful IP Code - Wikipedia.
