Just realised we might be talking at cross purposes. Do you mean you bought the Rydon frames and had lenses mounted into them locally? Or did you buy a cheap frame and have Rydon lenses fitted into them?
Any chance of the eBay link?
I did look at the store. All it does is point me to the Spanish distributor in Barcelona. There doesn't seem to be any way of buying anything online. Maybe it's different for each country?
My Gen 4 motor sounded exactly like the second (louder) one until I had the software upgrade. It now sounds like the quiet one.
The change in noise was why I asked the dealer if he had downgraded the motor by mistake!
I wonder whether these two bikes were running the same software version...
It was that lack of surge which made me complain to the bikeshop that they'd downgraded my motor
Took it out the next day and collected KOM's when I thought I was going slower. The motor is much less of a hooligan and, probably because of that, it's much faster.
The only downside is...
I don't think you can do that. Shimano say to make sure that no grease gets between the chain stabilizer and the plate axle, else the clutch won't clutch... (page 36 of the maintenance instructions). I'm pretty sure what you're suggesting will ensure grease gets in there.
It's hot in this part of the world. It's rare to see anyone other than tourists or the DH crowd wearing anything but lycra. When I'm out with the oldies for a coffee ride, I'll pull a cheap pair of Decathlon Rockrider MTB shorts over the lycra shorts. I can't imagine (actually, I can ) not...
Certainly my experience with the 12sp SLX. The Shimano manual says it probably needs a regrease every 12 months. I'm lucky to get 12 days out of mine. Up until now I've been a fan of all things Shimano, but this one is a sod. The torque to the clutch is also hyper critical - and is not the same...
I've got the Compact 2A Charger. I normally don't charge over 80% because that's supposed to keep the battery happy for longer. The charger gets warm, but nothing noteworthy.
However, when I top the batteries off to 100% (I've got 2 of them), then I reckon I could fry an egg on the charger...
No. Tony's not fixed it yet. Same problem as you had: nothing in stock no matter what the ad says.
This looks like it may well be the answer. I'll pass it on to him.
Thanks.
... which is the whole reason I now have an E-bike... and a Topeak Journey Trailer. The boss says that if I want us to go bike packing, then I get to pack the packing on my bike...
(BTW, the most common question with the trailer is: "Do you notice it's there?" To which the response is: "Yes...
One of those KOM's didn't even last the day. I'm not the only one to have got the motor software upgraded ? ? ?
And I guess the VAM shows the effect of the motor big time: when I'm in the Alps on my hamster wheel, I reckon on climbing 400m/hour on a loaded touring bike... ?
I've just had a closer look at the stats. It's all definitely down to the motor. There is no way this decrepit OAP could have taken 30 seconds off both KOMs, set by lads half my age, without a great deal of mechanical assistance!
I withdraw all my criticism. I'm impressed!
Well... I tried that on both my bike and my missus' little S-framed bike with my knees under my chin. On two full crank rotations I heard... nothing - 'cos both bikes were doing 30km/hr! ?
Yesterday I was riding with the old boys so had to behave. This morning I took the bike out for a couple...
Well.... he claimed he had selected 85Nm and the Purion shows EMTB rather than Sport, so I guess that's been done correctly.
It was a slow ride this morning with a bunch of very old chaps, so I didn't want to go haring off by myself. The difference on the flat between the modes was barely...
