I've got the Jam2 6.7 Nine in Large. I'm 5'10" and find it a little bit of a stretch. I would probably have been more comfortable on a Medium. I have a Conor WRX non-E in Large and it's considerably smaller than the Focus.

I've only hiked in the Vosges. Loved it. Take a look on www.wikiloc.com for route suggestions. There are also a dozen or two routes on www.komoot.com which are worth a look at. (Never had much luck with Komoot. Down here in the Iberian Peninsula wikiloc.com is the go-to source).
