Can't say it's just you but I definitely find the helmet vents work well compared to my previous couple of lids (Bell Super2 and IXS Trail RS). They are all more orientated towards enduroey type riding though so maybe not as cool as an XC lid. I've used my Speedframe for bikepacking and...
I believe there's a significant upgrade to the app coming soon relating to the 2023 bikes (but it will be retro compatible with 2022 models). It will allow more tuning of the power levels on individual settings (not sure if it includes the ability to adjust torque though). I'll try to find out...
I snapped an XT rear mech on my ebike with a fallen twig as well and I've only had the bike for a couple of months. Previously, I only ever remember wrecking one in thirty plus years mountain biking (that one was caused by a flying rock kicked up by the wheel).
I can thoroughly recommend the Speedframe Pro if anyone's looking for a new open face lid, I love mine. Severely tempted by the Proframe, I keep wondering whether I should be riding in a full face lid more often.
Standard pads are very good but expensive to replace in my experience. I don't think the cooling fins make much difference with most riding I do but on the odd occasion riding really steep trails I've got the brakes super hot and I reckon if you lived somewhere with long descents (like the Alps)...
Worst case scenario you might have to buy a new rotor and a set of pads if it doesn't perform but I suspect you'll be absolutely fine despite what the purists say. Bottom line is that you already have the rotor so why wouldn't you try it?
I've got XT four pots on two bikes (my eeb and enduro bike) and Saints on my fat bike. I've found the power and reliability to be excellent on the Saints and the older set off XTs (on my enduro bike) but I've had to do a few bleeds on the newer XTs on my ebike (which I've only had for a couple...
Just another quick update on the 155 crank mod. After having got a good few rides on the cranks I have to say if you're thinking about doing this mod, just do it. I've only noticed positive things and no real downsides and it makes me wonder why manufacturers don't just spec them from new.
I think there was an issue with a batch of Assagais. My LBS had to return all theirs to the distributor as they were unsaleable but they got replacements that were okay (even with inserts in).
Fwiw, I've just put a Tannus tubeless liner in my Kryptotal rear and was dreading getting a wobble...
Apparently the mounting system is a three bolt set up, not the two holes that were on the previous bikes. As I said they aren't sure if it'll be retro compatible. I have no interest in it anyway but I thought some others may like to know.
My friend and local bike shop owner has just been to the 2023 Giant dealer presentation and there's a new range extender about to be released. From what I understand it's more compact but with capacity reduced slightly to 200wh. It was shown as an accessory for the 2023 bikes and I'm not sure if...
Hope you like the Kryptotal, I've been quite pleased with mine so far (ridden one day off piste at Glentress and one day local Helensburgh swamps)! Definitely way better than the High Roller that came on my bike.
I think the responses to this thread demonstrate that there's no one right answer, it depends entirely on what your prevailing riding conditions are. I think the OP needs to read through all the advice and recommendations and figure out which ones align most closely with his/hers own local...
I just got an SKS Mudrocker rear mudguard to help keep the winter crap off me and my bike. I got it after a recommendation on here and as a Mudhugger, RRP and Zefal mudguard user can say that the thought that has gone into this thing is next level. It comes with extensions to protect the...
Just getting away from wobbly tyres for a minute, I had my first ride today with a 2.4 Conti Kryptotal Enduro soft rear tyre on and was very impressed. It was to replace the OEM High Roller 2 on my Giant Reign which was pretty crap. My usual go to is a DHR2 on the rear (original I know) but I...
I've just fitted a pair of the Miranda 155 cranks to my Reign E+1. They're linked on UK Amazon on the other shorter cranks thread Miranda 150mm Cranks for my 2022 Reign.. They are pretty cheap (£40ish although they don't come with crank bolts and the Praxis ones don't fit). My plan was to try...
I've been using Squirt lube on my ebike. I used it initially only on my gravel bike and I've used Finish Line wet lube on my mtbs for years but I decided to try Squirt on my eeb just to see how it goes. So far I've been quite pleased with the results. That being said, I clean and re-lube my...
Been riding mine for the last three days as I snapped the mech on my eeb. I've really enjoyed riding it again, especially on descents where it feels so nice. I'm looking forward to having the eeb back up and running next week but I'll definitely be keeping my conventional bikes and will ride...
