Just in case if anyone was interested in the performance of the Bafang M820 system👍🏿
My suspension chap has built a harness-like contraption which when the rear wheel is removed from the drop-outs, a marker like device is installed onto the axle once inserted back into the drop-outs.
He'll perform two tests, the first is to remove the rear shock completely to know and...
Agreed. I run a 55mn stroke. No issues with a 29x2.3 Maxxis DHR2.
Although, my suspension chap measured the axle path and he's getting 148mm of rear wheel travel.
So apparently, their have been a few complaints about the Acros headset for cable routing. Supposedly, one of the following seems to occur:-
1. Depending on the variant, the plastic parts are prone to snapping when preloading the headset!? Or,
2. Depending on the variant, the physical outer...
Has anyone experimented with either swapping out the battery mount for something else or using different hardware bolts on the CEF50?
Ignore the shock bolts and mech hangers on the left hand side, this picture was taken for an article I'm writing. Moreso, the battery mount on the right. Is it...
I haven't tested the M820 against the M600 or the M620 @TCFlowClyde . But one could argue that comparing a 250w nominal motor against 500w+ nominal motor is somewhat unfair.
Whilst I'll gladly say that the M820 feels and performs better than the M500, I suspect that Bafang intentionally built...
It's funny you should say that. So I've tested the M820 against the Bosch Gen4. Yeah, the Bosch Gen4 out-sprinted the M820. But it only had a 4sec time over the M820 (which oddly enough is comparable to the EP801 in my Dengfu E08.
My Levo however seems to be tied with CEF50 and the M820...
Personally, I think they should have implemented a trunion style rear shock linkage instead of the metric 210mm eye to eye linkage shock design. They could have killed two birds with one stone and increased the rear wheel travel, whilst keeping the geometry near identical with a 205x65 trunion...
At 6foot 3inches (191cm), my xl fits pretty good. I have scope to lengthen my effective reach by dropping my stem (lowering the stack) and using higher rise bars. Currently, my bars have a 27mm rise and I'm running 15mm worth of spacers underneath my 40mm stem.
My 200mm Brand X dropper is ran...
The motor can be heard, I'll gladly say that. It's not the loudest motor I've come across. But I've yet to have cracked the M820 open. 9/10, the noise is usually because of the grease used -v- the rpm of the main reduction gear. But the noise the motor gives off in peak output isn't off-putting...
Within the time span of 1hr of that same pic being uploaded to Facebook and Instagram, I've been asked that same question from everyone 😄.
I can whip out my E10 easily enough and compare (XL carbon frame vs XL carbon frame). But more and more people are asking me to compare CEF50 to this bike...
I am impressed everyone.
Very impressed👊🏿
The M820 is quickly becoming my favourite 250w nominal Bafang motor👍🏿
Considering this is a 160/150 29er setup, the geo on this xl feels spot on👌🏿
It's possible. I haven't hooked up my besst tool yet. When u ordered the M820 system, I asked them to set it up for the 43v battery and for a 29er rear wheel and to set the speed limit to 15.5mph.
This weekend, I'll be able to guage the performance a lot better with the firmware I'm running...
It's been a while since I've used a Bafang proprietary battery.
Gotta be honest, this 43v 410wh battery is heavier than I thought.
My Darfon 36v 504wh battery Is a little bit heavier.
Oh well, let's finish this build👍🏿
