I haven’t had mine done, as I’d be worried about the warranty. But, as some countries have a higher limit, is it not possible to unofficially get the manufacturers code loaded onto the bike via a software update, rather than using third party hardware/ software?
I find my Cube Stereo Hybrid 140 easy to ride switched off, compared to my Whyte, which is much harder to ride switched off, with more resistance.
I still try and ride it switched off as much as possible though. Maybe it’s the 29” vs 27.5” wheels.
Thanks folks, I’ll check out the Ergon options for her as they seem to come out well. I’ve ordered the SM E-Mountain to try out on my bike in the meantime.
Went out with the mrs today for a few hours, and she bought a gel seat from Amazon, which she really likes. But it looks awful! I‘m not sold on the build quality either tbh.

I’ve put 3600 miles on my Nobby Nic’s, riding on fire roads, bike parks, tracks, woods and tarmac, so if you want a tyre that‘ll do a decent mileage, I’d say those are pretty good!
Had a good opportunity to test the Timber today, and it works really well. Sometimes it wasn’t heard, but a waggle of the bars soon solved that. I did feel like the town crier riding around, and was tempted to shout Here ye here ye the whole time!
Some decent exercises there. I had a session today with my personal trainer, then took the dog for a walk. Felt great. Then had cheese and biscuits for lunch and a kebab for dinner, so feel sad now.
