I think you need to draw up a shortlist that suit your needs and then go with whatever is available. I've been very pleased with my Cube 140TM

Probably the battery as there is a bit of tolerance and a spring within the retaining system. A bit of foam helps

There was a guy at Newbury Retrofest selling these for just under £2k.Rear hub motor in a legal and non legal version.Great for cruising down the local to meet up with mates on a sunny evening (but not much else though lol) but could always be the extra bike you think you need

Fair play to you.I live in Dorking and done that a few times but only from Partridge Green where we camp so we can have a few beers at Dark Star at the end.Theres a great little cafe at the helicopter end of the airport to take on a few treats and while away an hour before the return trip.

I have the 140TM and live in the Surrey Hills. Its a very capable bike and more than adequate for your intended use. I've also found it 100% reliable and the Bosch is a great choice of motor. Wisper quiet If you rent a different bike each time from different places, you'll never get used to one...

Not Bosch but you might want to consider the Rise if you like a lighter bike. I've got a Cube as well, demo'ed the Rise and loved it

I bought my protector a year ago for my Stereo Hybrid 140 and it came with a small bent metal clip riveted to the back end of the plate which hooks over the plastic motor cover.Strange they thought it needed for one and not the other
