Cube Hybrid EMTB 2025 looks lit!

FYI I changed my fork over the weekend, the headset isn't that hard to work with.

Just be careful the lower bearing will fall out on the crown race, and there is some kind of loose red seal that sites on top. The crown race is a tight one, it got a bit scuffed up taking it off with a small screwdriver. The top of the headset all held together during the operation and only one cable was in the way when inserting the new fork.

The only slightly frustrating part was the angleset cups also popping out. Gave me a right fright when I thought it was the actual press fit headset cups! 3 hands wouldn't have gone amiss to press everthing down together at the end, but it's literally just an extra 2-5 minutes of faffing. Good news is that I then decided to try the bike in the steeper setting, only took 5 minutes to do the full head angle adjust the next day.

Yep Ianother hand is needed as I wasn’t sure about the adjustable cups were right,now I’ve done it it’s easier,but even holding the stem straight is awkward because the cable/pipes want to lift it up

Ready for sub-120cm jumps! Warranty definitely not voided...

So weight wise the build above is 24.6kg with 400g pedals and ~300g of bottle holder+pump+multi tool. So just under 24kg with the 800wh and DH level tyres front and back.

I have the 600Wh battery en route, I'll report back whether knocking another kg off makes any noticeable difference in trail.

Do what i did,wrap gaffer tape around the top of the headset,spacers etc,keeps it all together,and stops it popping out all over the place.

Yeah bike is lower than expected for me too, it is the only regret I have with the bike, I truly hate this trend of low BBs. Also the fact that by my numbers the BB is about 6mm lower than the geo chart proclaims.

I wasn't sure whether I'd post this but here goes, on my size L one77 SLX:

Out of the Box: BB height 334mm
2.6 tyres front and back: BB 337mm
+ Headset cup in steep mode: BB 339mm

Theoretical numbers as it will void your warranty, not validated in real life:
+ 190mm fork: BB 345mm (head angle 64degrees with steep cups)
Offset bushing "the wrong way": +4mm at the BB but might cause issues with the yoke contacting the seattube and could rotate making the bike lower than stock. <- last resort...

So frustrating when the best reviewed bike out there, the Orbea Wild, has 358mm BB height!
If anyone knows a company that make custom yokes, or whether Cube have a compatible yoke from another model that happens to be about 3mm longer I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Damm,i didnt know that,glad i got one made for my stereo hybrid !
they have a standard motor guard which is plastic,its well worth getting a tailoured bash guard to the bike as plastic in the cold gets brittle,my carbon rockguard has a few dinks in it,which would have smashed the plastic motor guard

A little tip,drill a few holes at the front of the guard,as they tend to clog up if you are riding in soggy conditions,it just helps the water escape better,then take it off after and wipe it out,everything gets between the guard and motor.

Just fitted a super gravity tacky chan to the front..omg it was tight,had to use tyre levers but have a slight wobble..think I might have stretched the bead slightlythink maxxis dh tyre was easier than that to fitedit repaired my lifeline boost pump and with plenty of soap the bead finally seated the slightest bit more and wobble gone

First ride with a tacky chan ultra soft and really impressive,bike rolls really fast with both fitted,braking is still good but lean it in and the bike just rails,I’ve now removed all the front tokens in the fork and running at 15% sag,the rear I’m at 25% and happy with it although I might try some can spacers in and back to 30%,the only grip with the bike is the shimano cassette..well I think it’s that,last 4 big cogs,it drives fine but you get a horrible grumbling feel through pedals and a grinding sound,I’ve took a full turn off the clutch and adjusted the b screw as low as a dare and it has reduced it slightly,all indexing is spot on and the hanger is straight,like the chain is too tight,might try a new shimano chain from the kmce12 that the bike came with,idk not had shimano drive train in years,is this how they are?

Hi everyone, I would have 2 questions for you :
- is it risky to have a carbon frame in rock gardens? I didn't think of it before buying but now I'm scared lol. If someone has experience with it
- I want to change the angle of the headset but I don't know what it looks like and what part is supposed to be inverted. Same, if someone have experience and/or pictures of it I'll take it. Else I will do even without ahah

The headset is a variation of this one: mod56/56 - angle headset 1°

You can see the top and bottom cup here:

I would say:
1) use an angle measurer (on phone) to make sure the cups are correctly set, most likely it is in the slack setting around 63.8.
2) take out stem and spacers. When I did it, I actually left the stem on about 4cm higher (partially off the steerer tube) loosely tightened to avoid the fork from dropping out of the frame.
3) push fork out of frame slightly, no need to fully remove, everything should loosen up. The cups have almost no friction, just rotate the top and bottom one by 180, notice the little guide dimples that ensure they are centered.
4) get everything back into the frame and tighten
5) measure angle to ensure it is the desired one, if going towards steep it should be 64.4

I can't have a precise measure right now but it looks like the bike is already at 63.8 so maybe I won't change it. I think I want it to be in the flattest angle. But I'll surely test the other angle some day

My cube stereo has a carbon frame,and it gets abused in wales on big rock drops etc
fast rocky downhills and all that carnage that is riding in wales.
had it two years without issue.

That blue color is very nice! My One44 TM should be coming next week. Also a nice color, but that blue might me the nicest color in the lineup.
