I have 170mm Zebs on my rail but I have also increased the rear travel to 161 with a fox Dhx2 as I did not like having 20mm more on the front than the rear. Felt unbalanced. Would highly recommend the coil shock tho, transformed the bike!
Try slowing your rebound setting. If the fork rebounds too quickly, it will add to the harshness on small bumps.I hate mine. Trek rail 9.8 with zeb select. Upgraded it to RC2 2.1 damper so it’s an ultimate now. 170 air spring Refreshed the lowers. Even installed a smash pot tried 3 different springs. It’s better but pales in comparison to my fox 38. It’s paired with a fox 2021 dhx2 165mm with progressive spring.
Both low and high speed compression is backed out completely and it still makes my hands numb on small chatter.
Going to change the internal oil to a lighter weight and see if that helps.
I jump on my other bike with fox38 and it’s night and day better.
