Where would you like to go on your next mtb / emtb destination?

Let's presume that no limitation or restrictions apply. Meaning that you could travel abroad with both your emtb and battery, finance was not an issue, you have enough annual leave/study break and you could bring your friends and/or family.

Where would your next mtb / emtb destination be (on the planet earth)?

I'll go first.

I'd pick Jamaica ?? as my first stop and would probably stay for a week. Contrary to popular belief, there is mountain biking in Jamaica and a booming trail scene is starting to surface (ideal for ebike territory).
After Jamaica, I'd probably go to British Columbia ?? for 2weeks. I've been to Canada a few times (Ottawa) to see my family but I've been yearning to get back there again.

Lastly, would probably be the Alps. An ideal way to kill 7 birds with one stone and see France ??, Switzerland ??, Monaco ??, Italy ??, Austria ??, Germany, ?? and Slovenia ??.

Try Peru, at the Andes you ride high mountain wearing shorts and have 40 km downhills ending at the beach.
Its by far the most spectacular mountainrange on earth, galapagos to one side and amazon forest to the other.

Looking forward to Glentress in a couple of weekends time and am actually booking a longer stay there in September rather than our planned holiday to Turkey

however, if I was to ride somewhere further afield, with no restrictions, and battery charging wasn’t an issue, the Sierra Nevada would be pretty damn cool

You are gonna need a fair few to drown your sorrows after tonight's match..??
Hahah
I won't even be watching.
I'm not stupid enough to support Scotland's mens team in international football. They're just embarrassing.
If there's ever an international football competition held on red blaes wi jist wan set ay goals with berghaus jaikets fur goal posts, wan goalie, wan team wi nae taps n every player hus tae neck a bottle ay Buckfast pre-kick off we might stand a chance. Who am I fucking kidding? we'd still get humped. ;)

Ps. you just reminded me the CoOp are doing 4 bottles ay Bud and two shite pizzas for a fiver... not sure if they'll fit in ma deep fat frier ;)

You been before? Do you know your way round?
The best trails are not on the officially marked routes, but mostly easy to link together using the marked trails climbs

Nope never been before, just going to turn up like a newbie Glentress tourist and wing our way around using Trailforks as our guide. Probably head to Berm baby Berm first, get talking to people on the trail and see where our day takes us!

If we head back in September for a good four / five days we should get to know the area pretty well after that hopefully

The climb up is nice (Ebike or normal bike) and Berm baby berm is about half way up the hill from the bottom car park but being fairly flat and smooth isn't a particularly great trail for a big heavy Ebike with super grippy tyres (if that's what you have). concentrated around that area of the forest you are surrounded by easy blue grade flow trails and right next to the freeride area (jumps and drops)
Let me know what sort of trails do you like and I can probably point you in the direction of something tasty

Flowy blues, (small) jumps & drops sound ideal. Glentress will be our first ride on a four day trip so going to take it easy on the first day and just get to know the area. Need to go on Spooky Woods too just to bag the classic. Glentress newbie tourists doing the most popular trails for the first day. Should we be wearing L plates ?

It's been ages since I went to Turkey. I remember going to Kuşadası shortly after Liverpool won the championship league (this is going back over 15yrs). Good times ?.
Epic place for dirt biking.

Epic place for paragliding too (Oludeniz) but can’t do it at present due to Covid restrictions so postponing the trip. Plus Turkey’s on the red list unfortunately so it’s not looking good for September at all

You'll probably love the whole standard waymarked red and blue routes. Both are full of berms and small easy jumps/drops and the climbs are fairly flowy and scenic too. You can do both back to back fairly easily in a couple of hours. and there are tons of naughty Ebike lines up the climbs if that sort of thing floats your boat.

I’ll be with my partner who’s been learning on my e-hardtail so flowy smooth trails will be perfect. Don’t want to scare the shit out of her on gnarly off piste runs, did that at Hamsterley last weekend and she wasn’t impressed !

I ride the red and blue trails at Glentress fairly often on normal bikes with either my girlfriend or my daughter who are both fit but relative beginners at technical mtb and there's enough balance for them to progress in a safe environment and me not to get bored.
Can't really go wrong at Glentress whatever level rider you are.

Sun Valley & Hailey, Idaho, had the softest dirt trails & spongey giant sagebrush I have yet experienced. Like falling on giant marshmallows... Hardly a rock in sight. I would like to revisit those trails on the ebike.

I'm with B1rdie though, in theory: Surely Peru offers some of the most environmental variation you could find on any 50km strip of trails?
(I don't think doing tricks on M̶a̶c̶h̶o̶ ̶P̶i̶k̶a̶c̶h̶u̶ Machu Picchu would be welcomed, though...)

Also, I love rain & especially riding streets in the rain, so I'd like to see Portland, Seattle, British Columbia in general, basically anywhere with cool some wet highlands. Honestly might prefer the manual bike for that, though.

Wherever, I just need to keep riding! FABT 🤙

We had nothing but bike problems that weekend!

Crank fell off my bike just before we were about to start Spooky Woods, had to roll down the fire roads to the shop for a fix

Other half’s tyre exploded en route to Spooky Woods. Beyond trailside repair. Back down to shop for new tyre

Motor died on other half’s bike en route to Spooky Woods. Rolled back down to glamping pods, locked bike up, hired a leg powered for the day instead

Still had a great time though and will be back this summer :)

All being well I'm going to Spain in the van in May (I love Spain) 4/5 weeks going where the mood takes us riding bikes and drinking beer.

Everything comes in threes they say. I broke a hanger on a rocky mountain there and by some freeky coincidence they had one in the shop. Have not been there for a few years now its four hours from me. Must be due a trip. Not a bad country the Uk for biking really if we take away the weather some days. Yorkshire lovely area not cycled there though just campervan trips. Enjoy.
