Not for my e-bike but the other half’s - a set of those crazy Pendulum pedals (Outlier MTB — Pendulum Pedal)

He’s struggling with ankle pain and keeping his heel down after breaking it so I’m hoping these will make some sort of difference. They won’t ship for a few months but we’ll see if they work when they arrive!
Those look interesting. I wonder how’d they’d stand up to some aggressive trails?

I ride with magnetic peddles, which are on the heavy side, but the upstroke and foot placement are helpful. Reducing the pins, weight and even the size could make them a little better.

Sorta curious about the geometry change?

Your feedback will be helpful.

The Loam Wolf had quite a positive review of them, but I’ve not always found his reviews to match up with my experiences so I’m taking it with a pinch of salt!
He’s already got a pair of magpeds to try but I’m not convinced they’ll fix/help the heel down issue. A friend who’s been riding them for a year has also said that the magnets seem to demagnetise over time, after a few very sketchy moments with his releasing on massive jumps (30ft tables) he’s gone back to normal clipless.

$299 for a set of pedals! OUCH!
Ah, those are Canadian dollars and are a less extortionate £163.85, not £238.35 for US$.
Still steep though. Or maybe not?
The last pair of pedals I bought was £100 for a pair of DMR Vault and I've had them for ten years (best guess).
But wait, I see that they can now be had for less than £60 from Evans Cycles.
My Vaults have lost most of their colour and a few pins, but I suspect that I will still have them when I'm in my box on the way to the Crematorium.

If I could, I would go clipless. Always used them on the road bikes. I wonder if the bearings, for the pendulum effect, would hold up over time. Mind you a little flick with the toe could work to orient them correctly. A magnet on one side could reduce the weight for me.

…suspect that I will still have them when I'm in my box on the way to the Crematorium.
I’d check the melting point of medal before I did that …to avoid any awkward moments 😉

I just received a surprise parcel from UPS, (late as usual according to my Wife) but on opening it, my Wife says “happy early Christmas” and this was inside 😁I hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow cause I’m going to try it out, I was going to get one after Christmas because my family always put money in cards so I can buy what I need 👍

ACF74577-3920-435B-84AA-FA6D827881D3.jpeg So much for my test ride today, woke this morning to severe pain in my back, oh well I will have to be patient and hopefully I’ll try it out along with the new magnetic mount I bought a little while ago over Christmas 🤞

My concern with those is the short axle taking all the rider’s weight.

I bent some BMX pedals a couple of years ago and they had full axles like normal pedals. I just don’t know how they solve that problem, unless they’re super over engineered (which they likely are).

When I removed the Bosch motor for a full service (will send to CycloChrome) I noticed that the castle nut was loose. There was no indication other than a slight noise. The old castle nut has been R&R’d several times for different mods and service.

My only conclusion is that the blue loc-tight failed or the reverse threads on the castle nut are worn or stretched …after all it is aluminum.

History; I have less than 20K kms on this motor without any issues …until the loose castle nut incident.

Also had my shock and forks serviced.

I can’t really justify a new fork and shock upgrade …even though I like the new features.

Earlier this year I splashed out on a full suspension upgrade Zeb Ultimate 3.0
and a Super Deluxe Ultimate shock.
Very plush and very easy to tune
Go for it mate you wont regret it

Yeah, I’m still trying to justify the upgrade to a Zeb Ultimate. I got the green light from Mrs Stihl for that luxury but there’s a voice that reminds me that it’s $1800 CDN. I’m not financially embarrassed for this hobby but I may have to sell one of the children.

This particular Zeb fork has a larger diameter yoke which matches the larger diameter steering tube of the Rail 9.7. Maybe this will be the year. 👍🏻

Happy New Year everyone!

I fell of mine thanks to someones dog not being on the lead.
hit the brakes, and the bike just slipped under me on an icey path...
I collected the dog on my handle bars it seems as the usb cable to my handle bar mounted phone was completelyt bent on both ends and had fur on it .

Had to straighten my handle bars, luckily I had my mini tool kit with me, I almost left it at home.

strong MTB brakes + frosty/icey paths don't mix. (shared cycle path he walked onto it blind, I had about 4ft warning before seeing the dog... I was going about 12mph only as well..)

A new bouncy thing for the levo..
Bomber Air shock
£150 from Merlin..seems like it was a decent shock at rrp £450 ish..

Took half hr to fit due to having to remove all the bushes and fit the specialized specific ones from the oe shock..flip chip so no bushes needed at the bottom end.
Got the 210x55 so a little more travel than the original...needed 210psi to get the sag..seems very nice 👌 210x52.5..fitted to the 2019 model.

Bought yesterday, for quick after ride bike cleaning, battery powered MultiJet spraying system:

IMG_4973.jpeg

Had been trying before with a Gloria Garden Sprayer (FM30 with modified spraying nozzle) but this did not really impress the mud on the bike to make it get off.

This has good comments for the remote bike cleaning in tests and forums. It can provide not to high water pressure and works with PET bottles / canisters. Smaller and less bulky than other systems, less expensive and can be used around the house & garden. Will see. 🙂

Yeah love it. Does everything I need and more
Bought the 130+ and that did what I needed but the screen was slightly too small so had the chance to upgrade and pleased I did much better screen. Can see it haha plus mapping. Which I’ve not used yet. But have some routes from Strava to test it on
Connects to my turbo Levo and Axs shifting for info
Yeah I like it

The writing is mirrored, is that why you got such a tasty discount? 😉

@kefconstruction, throwing in my 10c (worth about 8p to you, I guess!) - the Edge 830 has a touchscreen, which I've found makes it much easier to use (I've had both 530 and 830).

A Minion SS after broken glass killed the one I've been happily running for 2600 miles ;)
I HATE WANKERS WHO BREAK GLASS AND DON'T CLEAN IT UP!
Patched it from inside with an automotive patch like I always do if sealant won't plug a hole/tear but the threads are now weakened meaning it'll bulge like one of those frogs necks if run tubeless at 50psi (would have still worked fine with a tube). Binned it anyway though and fitted a new DHRII I already had
I won't be fitting the SS until spring now as I have spare wheels slicked up for the commute. Just bought it ass they're a good price just now (£25)
2600 miles! :)

I agree, I actually always preferred the under the seat pack, or seeing if I could stuff everything under the seat rails.

I hate anything extra attached to the bike these days, preferring a small backpack. I know from the popularity of bottle mounts that others don’t feel the same :)
Under the seat Burrito wrap bag is neat and light :)
