Maybe the "2" after the date numbers and before the last 4 digits ? (or two digits on Austin's) .. I'm only grasping at straws though - it might be something only Spesh can identify purely on how they have them logged and which ones they know had the 2.2 upgrades.

or 2.2 is just marketing

my last broken motor was E0168-100200622-2-5130 I was told it had a upgraded one ? let's see what I will get for a new one

So from @congerball's reply in the other thread, his was a 31st August 2020 motor and is 2.2 Spec . So maybe yours as a June Motor was a 2.1.5 spec with the first slightly larger belt, not the American Waistline belt. ;) :censored:

The clue was actually in Robs video...Listen from 21:30
So a lot is more drawing a line in the sand. Well spotted, I was too distracted by the pretty pictures :) So he confirms, some of the more recent 2.1's have also had "The latest belt".

Anyway, get working, you have motors to fix - you don't have time to enjoy yourself and watch entertainment !

Any plans for a bafang m800 "SL" Old school Levo/Kenevo conversion (would drop a Kenevo Classic to just over 20kg's) .. or a full fat M500 conversion ?

Basically the 2.2 is the 2.1 with all the bits added, as it was about 4 months ago.

Yes, big plans for Bafang after summer ?

Agree so 2.2 is an upgraded 2.1 with the wide belt AND a better water sealing plastic cover AND SW upgrade!

I'm fine with this, if we are getting to a 5'000 km per motor range.

And as side not, I'm glad SPec focused on a 4-year warranty extension and not on xx km range

Charging port is not part of the motor but part of the battery harness. I'm pretty sure the new motor has same ports (for TCU, speed sensor, battery, lights etc.), just harness to the battery port is new/different ...
Yes, the motor serial contains manufacturing date, but since Spesh/Brose does not give out exact dates when the motor was updated I'm sure it will not be so obvious ...

I can’t tell...

The LBS said the packing list listed “2.2...”.

MY21 TL Comp, at 3,000 miles, never chipped/de-limited, will automatically power itself on when the bike is rolled backwards. Is this the beginning of the end for my Brose motor? 6 months left on my 2 year warranty. Sent diagnostics into Specialized. Hope my LBS can get me in and out quickly. It’s nearly spring!

They all do this. I don't plug in the battery if I'm working on the bike as it tends to turn itself on.
