Stay away from Volabike!!!Thats the one o bought only to be told after I had made payment they wanted my battery
I’m glad that I don’t have to publicly mention any companies or outfits claiming to have a safe system.Stay away from Volabike!!!
That company is selling sh*t like that on the pictures attached by Trailwatts.
They talk about "safety layers", "propietary electronics" but the fact is that they are selling the kits with silicon or schottky diodes enclosed on heat shrink tube ignoring all the thermal issues involved.
In Spain where they are based, there are reports about extenders no extending, or ebike damage, depending on the fail mode of the the toasted diode: short or open.
Now they are drilling and modifying Bosch batteries attaching a cable for the connection of the extender in parallel with the cell bank. They left to the user goodwill the connection in equal voltage level!. An electronic nightmare just to left customers with Bosch warranty void
Amazing work, really excited for this as it'll open up some truly epic rides on my Rail.I have been trail testing for a couple of months with the Gen 4 and 378wh.
Module working really well.
Hopefully roll out a fitting service later this year.
At least people with the smart system have an option. I have a gen 4 non-smart equipped bike and there is nothing available. Hopefully the package trailwatts comes up with will fit in the frame triangle of a trek rail.I could see this being very popular with the bikes with the sx motor. Ive heard the bosch extender packs have been hard to get ahold of. Maybe bosch has addressed and have more stock now, idk.
I think most people with internal 400w battery on a bosch sx equipped bike will want an extender of some sort
I wouldnt be surprised if it happens. Looks like this current one fits in a water bottle cage.At least people with the smart system have an option.
