Fugly innit? But not as fugly as my back would have been without the rear Mudhugger.

Front and rear Assegais turned into slicks, sliding around on roots. Time to fit winter tyres. Also have to do wife's bike so that's four tyres to be changed. And retape rims and fit Fillmore valves at the same time. Oh joy. Not. :(

Cheviots explorer route ..take 2 .
While Wayne & myself had been pleased with the "unvisited" trails we rode last Saturday we still hadn't hit the sweet spot in terms of creating a new route..so back to the drawing board and being the perfectionists we are 😉..back out today to visit yet more virginal ( to us ) tracks and put to bed a route we are 98% happy with ..but the ( naughty ) footpath we took from Kidlandlee skirting Peat Law although good for the majority of its length turned into a bit of a yomp/ slog/ push through very boggy , tussocky ground for the last few hundred metres..so probably wouldn't do that again ( but there is another good alternative which we partly scoped out on our previous ride) ..
We also had to bin another naughty section when we got to Puncherton as the farmer came up to meet us on his quad bike and enquired where we were heading ..Wayne gave him an honest answer and said we going to head around Puncherton Hill and The Dodd ..and the farmer ( pleasantly) advised us not to go that way as soil erosion meant that it was only a couple of inches deep ..he did however give us an alternative route ( oh no he didn't/ oh yes he did ) away from the official bridleway as that was a complete mud fest ..so as he wasn't a " get orrff my land type " and a canny bloke ..that's what we did .👍🏻
A few more pics to follow on from Saturday's ..another great day out in these hills with me marra Wayne ..cheers lad 😁

Well can’t add hardly anything to that post my friend…..It was very desolate above Bleak Law as the name suggests and we will able to skirt around the “true” bridleway that will make a return visit more easily navigable. Saying that once on the hill tops there is very little show you are on a right of way.
Another great day out in stunning scenery and impeccable company. Cheers bud 👍 IMG_8622.jpeg IMG_8623.jpeg IMG_8624.jpeg
Neil doing his stuff on one of the numerous stream crossings. Below is the pic of the elevation gain and descents……..spot the deliberate mistake.

Bring on the weekend.

Exploring Clashindarroch woods today , big area. So many tracks you spend a lot of time checking where your going. Caravan Ben Fogle seemingly slept in when he visited Jake the recluse in his tv series., believe it if you like. A lot of the small paths we used won't be there much longer with all the growth going on. Fascinating names on the the map.

What on earth are you talking about ?
Winter tyres ..in S.E. England ? 😂
The tyres you have on your bikes will do a more than adequate job ..I've an Assegai on the front of my bike ( stays on all year round) and a Minnion DHF on the rear and yes they get a little clogged up with mud & sheep shit but perform more than adequately in our Autumnal conditions ( winter too for that matter ) ..and I'm far from being a riding God 😂

Yeah Col ..its Outdooractive ..I pay the yearly subscription for full coverage of GB ..
It's a wee bit temperamental as although my distances are usually similar to the apps of other riders ( eg Strava etc.)... sometimes the ascent figure is way out ( recent Torver ride was 1k short ) ..but I like the fact that it has full OS mapping and you can switch from Landranger to Outdoor Leisure en- route for more detail if needed ..
