Seen a couple ambulances when I left Aviemore and a couple Police cars speaking to bikers .

Newcastleton ..quite a way North & East of the Grand Canyon ..and one of the 7 Stanes Centres in the Scottish Borders ..
We weren't meant to be here but Colin couldn't get a horse/ dog sitter (and I don't know the Jedburgh route )..Wayne also a "casualty" to organising a family break ..so myself & Jaco headed to our nearest Scottish trail centre..
Having not been here for a good while ( and maybe only once on an ebike ) ..it's easy to forget that there are some great sections ..even if it's quite a short experience without a diversion to shave off even more ..so we did the first half of the ride twice ...
A sunny but breezy day with ground conditions more than a little damp did nothing to spoil our enjoyment ..it was excellent

3000? Pah! a mere trickle!!!
A few weeks ago on "Dave's Day" I stood and watched approx 20,000 bikes go past.
Every model of bike you have ever heard of, plus a few you probably haven't heard of.
I didn't know that so many "Indians" existed!

After having a bit of a "fall" on Saturday I decided to have a sensible ride yesterday and just see where I ended up,upon my return I checked my route on the Flow app and was surprised to see my dog Jim!.....well I can see him anyway.

Rode about 20 miles with the Mrs this afternoon, up Venus Woods then for a Naughty Armstrong toasted sandwich at the Cocking Down Cadence café. Yeah I know, Venus and Cocking makes us laugh too!

Rode about 20 miles with the Mrs this afternoon, up Venus Woods then for a Naughty Armstrong toasted sandwich at the Cocking Down Cadence café. Yeah I know, Venus and Cocking makes us laugh too!

I was thinking that the Merckx looks the business, coming over the the UK next year, is that and average sort of price for take away sandwiches/toasties or is that sort of a flashier sort of place? If it is think we will have to look at our budget a bit harder.
I remember going to truck shop cafes and getting a full English breakfast, black pudding and all the works for a couple of quid. It was about 30 years ago but was figuring it would still be a bit cheaper than 8 pounds for basically a sandwich.
