They're pretty much exactly the same size as my Raceface Chesters. The chester is slightly longer due to it's chamfered front and back edges - but the platform area is the same.

View attachment 63538

Shape wise, they're inverted with the chester having a wider front than rear and the rockbros having a wider rear than front.

Very interesting ZF, which ones work better for you?
Visually, I prefer the Chester shape, as I place my foot more forward on the pedal, in comp to a road-bike. However, Rockbros has more spikes and really works well with my riding boots, so I will leave it as is for now.

Too early to say to be honest especially as adjusting to the bike. I found my foot naturally sitting too outward on the rockbros at the start for some reason so had to consciously move more inboard, but once adjusted it was fine. With the extra spikes it's way harder to re-adjust your foot position on the fly - so that will depend on each person as to what they like/want. It's already fairly difficult to adjust on the chesters, so I think I'll be removing some spikes on the rocksbros. Felt fine though on the descents. I had other things to worry about like 20mm wider bars which caused one fast clip, didn't want to hack them straight down until I'd seen how the 29 felt with feedback compared to the 27.5.

How are you finding your new Jam2 ? I was after one but couldn’t find any in stock locally so went for the Haibike instead as I’m far too impatient to wait. Don’t regret the Haibike at all, but the Focus does look nice. (As do E-Sommets, YT’s, Orbeas, Merida, Canyon blah blah blah)

Did a local / local ride from the door this morning primarily to try out something new .
I've used Viewranger for a good few years now and as other users will know they have been taken over by Outdoor Active ... over the last few months I have had numerous emails urging me to merge my account onto the new platform ..which up to now I have resisted ( I'm a better the devil you know kind of bloke ) ...however the offer of a pro+ subscription free for a year finally tipped the scales ..and it does seem to offer more features than my Premium Viewranger account..one of those features being the ability to copy & paste onto other platforms .
This is not a full review ( I will maybe do that after I've tried it a few times ) ..just seeing if that feature does actually work ..which I will hopefully add after posting a few pics .
The one thing I've come across that I don't like is that it seems to have other folks routes pre-loaded onto the map ..and up to now I havent found a way to get rid of them ( anyone know how ? )

I love the fact that someone however many years ago took the time to hand build this ford..

No riding this weekend. But did treat the bike to some new boots, pads, a clean and general going over....

rear tyre was a nightmare to get seated, long story short, the roval Pre-taped rims was coming away and wouldn’t hold pressure. New tape and all’s good ??

Ready for another load of abuse!

So far .. Really liking it .. Ultimately we're all really lucky as most of the bikes available are actually very good ! Which one is "best" or "better" is very subjective. Similarly with the motors. Guess I got lucky searching. Couldn't find one in a shop to buy - they said April 2022 .... But found a few online so bagged one of them ! :)

Not sure if this is what you're after but look in the Map/Layer section (icon bottom right). This'll give you the map choices you prefer etc.

Also in there, you can select which activity layer you want to see on the map, choices include MTB, Hiking, Horse Riding. If you de-select them all, that should give you a 'clean' map.

There is also a button at the top of the map screen to quickly Show/Hide any content layers you may have selected.
Maybe that helps with your issue?

As an aside, I hope your start point isn't your house, wouldn't want to be advertising on the map where your bike is!

the first picture has a lot to tell about riding stance, compared to the rider at the back, the rider at the front has the shoulders tense and upwards close to the ears, the arms straight at the elbows and bent at the wrists and the knees pointing inwards instead of paralel...
Sorry if I blurred the pictures...
No worries, I'm the rider behind :D

Last time I traveled to England I took my own cofee within the luggage, but that was on the last century… will have to go again later this year because my daughter will be moving to Manchester.
If pictures had a smell I could guess better, but by the colour only I guess its got better. Looking tasty ?

If you have to Loctite a rear axle then something is seriously wrong, either in setup or design!
I agree. The rear axle has a range of torques (12-14Nm I think, printed on the bolt head). I started with 12Nm and quickly went to 14Nm. It was still coming loose. So I used blue Loctite and I had no further problems. I suspect that the designer should have specified blue Loctite right from the start, or different engineering solution to overcome the space constraints.
For the avoidance of doubt, blue Loctite is an anti-shake product, not a full-on adhesive.

Incidentally, how about this for a bit of tin foil hattery. The route I took today passes through a big Tesco car park. I stopped to tie my lace & when I set off again, the motor gave a 510 error. I turned it off & on again & it was fine. The motor has never given any errors before. But get this, in the past I've had several occasions in the same car park where my car wouldn't lock or unlock on the fob.

They're beaming some sort of mind control ray from the deli counter, it's the only rational answer. ???

On a similar note, when I drove through Windsor a couple of weeks ago, the WiFi based Apple CarPlay in my car kept dropping out when I was near the castle. As soon as I was back out of the town it didn’t happen again.
