Sporty and economical: the new Tour+ riding mode
Bosch eBike Systems introduces energy-saving riding mode for sporty tours
  • Dynamic continuous support for sporty eBikers
  • More of the eBikers own effort result in greater range point
  • Available from specialist dealers from July 2021
London, UK – The new Tour+ riding mode from Bosch eBike Systems offers pedelec riders dynamic, continuous support depending on their own effort. This eliminates the need for manual switching between the common drive modes. The new riding mode is designed in particular for sporty rides: With Tour+, eBikers pedal a little harder on flat routes than with the familiar Tour mode. By increasing the rider's own effort, the riding mode saves energy and extends the boundaries for extended excursions. So, Tour+ challenges sporty riders and rewards their slightly greater effort with increased range.

Natural riding sensation due to sensitive motor support
Sensors on the motor measure important riding data more than 1,000 times per second, from which the Tour+ riding mode derives the optimum support for eBikers. The additional power is sensitively dosed to create a natural riding sensation. The degree of support varies dynamically and continuously between the Eco and Turbo drive modes. Tour+ allows eBikers maximum comfort in different riding situations and ensures that they can fully focus on the ride.

“With the Tour+ riding mode, eBikers who like to exert themselves a little more and put more of their own effort into pedalling get a comfort-oriented and range-optimised support level”, explains Claus Fleischer, CEO at Bosch eBike Systems. “There is no need to switch between the familiar modes, riders can devote themselves completely to their eBike experience and enjoy maximum riding pleasure. The system supports a little less on flat and easy routes to increase range. If needed, the support is adjusted situationally based on the pedal pressure to overcome inclines.”

The Tour+ riding mode is available from July 2021 for eBikes with the Bosch Performance Line CX from model year 2020 and derailleur system.

I seem to change to tour mode when a little tired or up steep inclines so bit sure if tour + is for me, think I will have to wait for more reviews on it etc

Sounding like a boring old fart .. whilst the Purion doesn't have Bluetooth ..

Wouldn't it be nice , seen as we're not in the 1980's .. if Bosch released an Iphone/android app called, for instance, Bosch Pop, which let you connect your phone to you purion/kiox by usb cable, analyse error codes so you can see if you need to goto the bike shop, and download firmware updates.

They're ahead of the game in battery tech, motor tech, motor software - yet the dudes in display and control technology seem to have been snapped up from Nokia 20 years ago and still refuse to move on.

I ll try asking this again ..( please)..
If you do the update to Tour + ..then find its not for you ..can you revert back to just Tour ?

Maybe if you own a TARDIS

Its a perfect 5th mode but as tour is my everyday goto mode im not so keen on losing more grunt.

This would have complimented Eco and Tour brilliantly. Shame its at the expense of my fav mode.

There seems to be two threads running about the same subject ..but after very short deliberation I also will not be running tour +..
Tour is also my "go to" mode for most of my riding and its no big deal to take a second or so out of my day to change to Eco..should I need to conserve the battery for greater range / riding on flat terrain ..

This need for the likes of Bosch to help us out by saving us pressing a button which takes half a second to do. Can understand the flexibility of such a mode when youre tackling the differing terrain (hello EMTB), but surely not as a replacement of a well used and liked mode.

They suggesting that they're helping us get fitter? what next a 'new' 0nm motor where the rider puts in 100% effort but which offers immense battery efficiency? :p nice

A 0nm motor? Wow, that’s never been done before. Do we have the technology yet to produce one capable of that?

The current draw on the battery would be zero. No more range anxiety. I can’t wait ?

I know wouldnt it be amazing to have zero battery use?! thats gotta be the goal right! Imagine having an emtb with no battery use?! I guess they could be called something like mtb's ??? crazy, imagine that!! hahaha

I think they are trying to make it fully "automatic" so the rider doesn't have to worry about switching modes and can focus on the ride. I do know there are times I have to take my eyes off the trail and look for the button to change modes. I think in theory it sounds like a dream...now to see if it actually works. I do like the idea to be able to add it as a 5th power level then you can select what you when you want it....its all about the options.

Hang on so what range is emtb? If this isn’t eco/tour then tour+ sounds like a game changer, the lower cadence power is way to much torque at times compared to something like the Shimano which is nice and progressive (on the rise)
