New Bike Day! 2024 Crestline RS180

New bike days are the best! This is my 3rd Crestline bike. My white one is set up 29er/29er with 160mm/150mm travel, my black one is set up mullet with 180mm/175mm travel and my new silver one is set up 29er/29er with 180mm/180mm travel. Ordered the Crestline RS 180 Silver Edition Frameset and built it up with the following items.

Ohlins RXF 38 Fork (80psi main/160psi ramp up/10 clicks rebound/compression wide open) (I'm 6ft 1in tall/130lbs)
Ohlins TTX2 Shock (160psi/9 clicks rebound/compression wide open)
SRAM AXS GX Transmission Drivetrain
SRAM AXS Dropper Post (170mm slammed into frame)
NOBL TR41 Carbon Wheels with Onyx Classic Hubs
Hayes Dominion A4 Brake Set
One Up Carbon Bars (800mm)
One Up Stem (43mm)
One Up Aluminum Pedals
ODI Rogue Grips
WTB Silverado Saddle
Maxxis Assegai/Double Down/Maxx Grip/2.5 WT (20psi)

why did you go 29/29 instead of mullet?

btw i live right near verdi would love to check out those bikes sometime. my ebike is like an ol jalopy compared to those. but i may get one if i can ever find a nice used one

I prefer the full 29/29 with the rocky Lake Tahoe terrain. If I lived in Santa Cruz with the smoother tight/twisty trails I would go mullet. My current mullet get's hung up on the rocks. Hit me up any time if you want to check out the bikes.

Love it - I’m taking my own frameset in to be built out this week as soon as my I9 wheelset arrives. Was going to build it out myself but then talked to the owner of one of my local bike shops to confirm they had the Bosch certs (and software) and he said they would do it for me in 48 hours (I usually take a week ‘cause I’m not a pro bike mechanic - lol - more of a watch that step on YouTube and try not to screw it up mechanic) so they’re getting a frame and a big ‘ole box of parts and a hardy “don’t fuck it up” from me…hope to have my ready to ride RS by mid next week. Super stoked.

Had a few a rides on the new bike and love having 29in/29in wheels with the 180mm/180mm travel. This is a home run in the Lake Tahoe area.

Not a fan of the SRAM AXS Transmission. Will be swapping that out for the old style SRAM AXS drivetrain. The ghost shifting sucks. Sometimes everything is perfect and smooth and sometimes noisy and clunky. The old style AXS also shifts much faster.

Also not a fan of the Hayes Dominion A4 brakes. Will be swapping those out for the Magura MT7's. The Hayes A4's feel exactly like Shimano XT brakes which I'm also not a fan of.

The NOBL TR41 carbon wheels and Onyx Classic hubs are amazing! Love the compliance and super fast rolling.

I need to quit looking at Crestline E-bike threads. I have their DH bike and love it, but went with a Strive for an ebike. But having a matching set of Crestline's would have been sublime

Stoked I was able to fix my ghost shifting issues with my SRAM AXS Transmission today. I adjusted the micro-tune on the trail vs bike stand and had zero issues on todays ride. It does shift like crap on the bike stand but perfect on the trail. The old school AXS still shifts faster though, lol.

I'm going to swap pads on my Hayes Brakes and see if that makes a difference before I swap back to Magura MT7's.

I ended up swapping the blacked out Ohlins decals for the brushed aluminum.

Also swapped out the Hayes Dominion A4 braks for the Magura MT7's and much happier. The Magura MDR-P rotors where just an
experiment and will stick the Magura Storm rotors.

Stoked to finally have the bike set up exactly how I wanted.
