Introducing my first custom e-bike. At first I apologize for my strange English translator ... I was a little inspired by my original Canyon Spectral and when I discovered the YT Rob project, it occurred to me to do its e-double ... 😜 The Dengfu E10 frame has a similar geo as the Spectal, so in fact, no one in the area will notice that I have a new e-bike. I ordered the 21 "frame, M600 motor and 17.5Ah battery from Melody on October 6 and sent me all 3 items in three shipments on October 23. The motor and frame via GLS courier and battery via UPS. GLS was fast and I had things in 17 days. The battery has not arrived yet and is wandering somewhere in the Mongolian desert ... 🙈 I bought the components for the construction in local e-shops, EU e-shops and Aliexpresse. Dengfu 3 items cost 2489usd / 2150 €, I paid via Paypal as a friend with no additional fees, the cost cost fit my budget of 4000 €, so I'm satisfied. The only thing I didn't buy were DT Swiss H1900 wheels, which are not yet in stock, so I found in the French e-shop Hope Fortus 35 and I'm satisfied. Since the battery is still wandering and I didn't like the frame in UD matte black much, I wanted to spray it on my friend, only he had full capacity and I didn't want to wait a month. Advised how to do it and I bought primer, matte black color and matte varnish and I went for it. In 4 days the frame was finished and in 2 days everything was put together. I did my first test without a battery yesterday and I'm excited. It is simply a tank and you can ride it comfortably even with the engine off. I still had a good condition, even though I have been riding much too litle the bike this year, I did great. I'm already looking forward to the battery before I plug it in and test the main thing - e-drive. If anyone has questions about the construction, feel free to contact me here and I will be happy to advise or I get advice ... 👍😎
Edit: So battery today arrived in Poland, therefore in monday i tested eSpectral... 🤟

Hi,
Nice build, the bike looks nice.
I have question regardin the battery. You state that you bought a 17.5V battery.
  • Are you sure you meant 17.5v?
  • Where did you buy it from?
  • What the specifications of the battery?
Best regards,

@Kucko , Thanks for posting your components list with the your paid price. This interesting information allows us to compare the prices back from end 2021 (I suspect when you ended build) with today prices.
Inflations sucks

Yes, and also compare prices from the end of 2020, when he made the first E10 Rob ...

LOL .. Love the Canyon branding. Not something I would do, but props for just saying 'Fk it' and labelling it as another brand. Would love to know how long it takes for a punter to finally question you on whether it's a legit Canyon or not.

Very nice build. I'm doing one similar and I have a question more about the M600 kit than the whole bike. My m600 kit (and I guess all others too) come with Chinese brake levers that signal the controller electronically. I. like you, don't want to use them for the various obvious reasons. I asked my sales person can I simply not use them, and she said "you have to use them". Clearly I don't. I see you didn't. But what consequence occurs if you omit them? Or is there some other workaround?

I'm not solving it... I built an ebike for myself, I don't go to competitions and events. I have it for my own pleasure and I use it mainly in the mountains, where nobody cares about branding... 😜👍

I used only the frame, motor and battery from the Chinese. Like Rob, I bought the rest here in the EU. I see no problem in replacing the brake levers with other ones. You don't need to have them connected to the display or controller. Like Rob, I used a high-quality 4-piston Shimano MT6120 full set of front and rear for €160...👍

Do you know what the function of the wired break levers is? How does the motor behave differently when wired together?
