Hey @Rob Rides EMTB are we ever going to get to see the full review video of this frame? You teased us with the build and we want to see the review!

I bet something went wrong with the frame. Judging from my own experience, the qc is poor and the frame probably snapped in use.

Actually the LCE930 frame quality is very high. Carbon finish + aluminium inserts for bearings and motor mountings makes this frame really well made. At my weight about 100kg geared up, frame have survived over 2000km of hard Enduro trails no problem.

The only problem with mainstream review might be that it will be very uncomfortable for main ebike manufacturers.
Let me say, we have many reviews of SL bikes in price range from 7k to 12k EUR and suddenly there cheap, good DIY option comes up in around 3k to 4k EUR. So for someone with bit of a tools an knowledge there is no piont of getting a bike in the shop.

Rob has done a lot for the sport and the acceptance of DIY which is fantastic. However, I agree that at some point when YT channels get big enough they tend to go where the money is. It is nice that we see occasional representation from the big channels like EMBN visiting the Bafang factory earlier this year and Rob doing an occasional DIY build. Without support from the manufactures it's so expensive to do proper product, build, and ride reviews. I would love to do this if I could convince LC, Dengfu, Markhor, SZZS, etc.. to send me their best offerings. I would be willing to put in the time and extra money for the builds. A shootout would be awesome too, although I would have to solicit the help of a more advanced rider for the big hits.

Evening Team,

We’ve been quiet on the Emtb front latter part of this year; we had a fair few product launches/upates that have sucked our time up! Not that it’s bad thing… we’re busier than ever before, so our stoke is high!

If anyone saw it, we actually got a small feature on EMBN which was pretty cool.

But yeah, we are officially 18 months deep into testing this frame and motor/battery, and are finally about to open up on orders (had a few last legal/compliance hoops to jump through to make sure we are all set). But overall, great results for us, especially considering the 2x British winters, Bike Park laps, Spanish Enduro/DH week and all the Welsh off piste you can dream of…. Just good laughs the whole time.

Nothings perfect, but LC are constantly open to feedback and continue to improve QC.

Anyway, from the Radical Team, hope you guys have a great new year, and a 2025 full of shredding! Hopefully we’ll see some of you guys knocking around.

Have you experienced similarly bad quality I documented in the other thread? I imagine quite many frames have passed your hands at this point.

Just checked out your post as we don't monitor the forum: We have certainly not seen anything to the extent you have posted.

As I’m sure you are aware we haven’t been open for orders as of yet, as we have been in long term testing. We have had 2x test frames (one from early batches, one from later), both of which have been fine; nothing like what you have posted. If we would have seen a large quantity pass through our hands during testing it would raise serious red flags.

Steve (our fabricator & welder) also works for a company that repair carbon frames and run inspections on any that come via insurance claims. He has access to ultrasound equipment… the works. It’s difficult for us to say really without trying fire shots at half the industry, so I wouldn’t want to go into everything too much as it puts us in an awkward position…. but having looked at our frames he has been pleased with the quality and finishing (that WE have had)…. The finishing on a majority of larger scale production bikes from what he has seen, is not always pretty…. (But also, not necessarily detrimental)

We can’t really comment on yours (we have a pretty good idea from the pictures), but certainly; if you are concerned about it you have done the right thing by raising it.

I correct that: 3x frames; But number 3 is a recent frame for a distributor ahead of launch

Thanks for replying :) ! good to hear that you have gotten better quality. And I do understand you can't comment too much. But it might be a good idea to keep your eyes open when you ramp up production.
Yep definitely: good to see others experiences, whether good or not!

I have received last week an frame LCE971 ordered from light carbon. It still have same looking quality than their previous production, far away of the dengfu E82 received by dazirl

for critical, I can jsut said that varnish thicknes of basic frame in glossy are thin than custom paint. normal taking account of the diferential value

Hey everyone
I have a problem with my M820 motor, it won’t turn on, I tried 2 different displays, both are known as working and a new lead from the motor to the display, tried a different battery also.
I’m thinking it’s the controller, does anyone know where to buy a replacement?

Try greenbikekit.com, they have controllers for other bafang motors.
