You guys go first, haha!! :giggle:

Too scared to mess mine up in case the new version has bugs they’re hoping/waiting for us guinea pigs to sort things out, and to do their work for them...?

Sad really... that it’s come to this GIANT (hope you're listening and get your act together and stop clowning around). ??
It’s only got 1.3 stars out of 5 stars rating - not exactly confidence inspiring for your customers, considering the amount of money these bikes cost.

So this is what we've come too. A bunch of grown men all daring each other to jump off a cliff to see if it hurts. I might give it a go tomorrow if I get home from work early enough. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that at 60 years of age one of the more terrifying things in life was going to be a phone app. Everything works at the moment so I could chicken out by tomorrow. ?

Hopefully (although it's not mentioned) this will rectify the ruination of the Smart Assist (Auto) mode by the last update.
Tried the mode a couple of days ago and the old, subtle operation from before the last two updates has been replaced with an unusable, all-on/all-off switch.
It is becoming increasingly evident that whoever writes this software doesn't have a clue of what is actually required by riders.

Haha, yep! ?? :giggle:

I've been bitten too many times updating MacOS on my desktop, only to find out that everything stops working! Same updating with iPhone OS (some years ago, not so bad now), you end up with more bugs than the previous bugs!

I think what has become the accepted norm now, is that developers can release a half-cocked update and let the early adopters do the testing for them in the real world - for free. Might just be a coincidence, but I don't recall this happening when Steve Jobs was still around. During that era, everyone I know in the graphic arts industry would simply update a MacOS asap without question or hesitation - and then get back to work immediately without any issues. These days, just hearing the phrase 'software update' gives me the heebeegeebees. ??

I Updated my 2020 Explore E + 4 to version 1.4.5. Initial impressions are favorable but that is based on 10 mins of riding Auto mode WORKS and appears to be tuned better than ever. (Prior to Ver 1.4.2) I may be imagining it but 3rd and 4th power levels pull stronger than I remember. More power gain, more battery drain? Don't know, time will tell. Your mileage may vary

Had a ride today with the 1.4.5 update. I was , as usual, mainly using my lowered Eco and Eco+ modes (75% and 125% assistance) but on the final climb of the ride I used Smart Assist. It is significantly better than when I last used it before the update so a definite improvement there. Also, battery consumption seemed to be heavier after the 1.4.4 update but appears to be back to normal now. Overall a good result.

Oh man, it’s soooo nice to hear some positive feedback around these updates :D

That certainly does sound good. New developers will be an improvement.
I had to translate this, but glad I did! Great to see that Giant is taking all the customer feedback seriously!

Doesn't work on 2019 Trance with original Ride control remote using android.......what a huge surprise!
1.4.2 does work fine as long as you turn off auto update.
Goodbye Giant......you got sold today! The Trek Rail 9 in your spot will be well cared for ?

Anyone updated a 2019 FathomE +3 29er, thought my bike was rubbish after one of the previous updates. Auto update switched off on my IPhone until I’m confident it’s safe to update.

Got my new fathome e+2 thursday and had thought auto assist had no effect. But then i updated app and bike to 1.4.5 and I notice a difference in assist levels on auto assist (y). Cannot seem to get walk assist working tho(n)
I think the new walk assist function requires a sequence... press WALK then the UP button (if I’m not mistaken) if you haven’t done so already. I’ve never used mine in the trails... I keep forgetting the function is there ??

Not sure if you know the process but this is how it works on my Trance e+. You press the walk button then you see the leds on the controlller illuminate from 1 to 5 and then press and hold the up button.
