Any update on seat post tube max length in large or XL frame I would like to order one as well but don’t want the sticking up part of the dropper.

I've just measured my large frame and the 'clear depth' from the top of the seat post clamp down to the top of where the motor mounts, is 390mm. My 150mm travel, 440mm RS post fits with room to spare. I would imagine most droppers will fit the large / X-large frames.

I have a Reverb Stealth 200mm travel C1 post that I fitted to my Dengfu E10 Large Frame at the weekend, I can confirm it's slammed right down to the bottom with no issues

Sorry to hijack the thread here. My frame arrived and it seems too small. I ordered 19". When I measure TT, I come to 630mm. Am I measuring wrong or is this a 17" frame? Has anyone ever re-measured his frame and if so how?

E10 frame sizing

Make sure you measure the distance with the frame chain stays positioned roughly horizontal (how the bike sits when assembled) then take a horizontal measurement from the centre of the head tube to the centre of the seat post. Should then match the figure shown in the table.
Mind you it says the head tube length is 120mm for the 19" and mine is 130mm

Hello everyone. So ive been in contact with an online store that has bikes based on dengfu e10. Person i talked to said he was 178ish cm tall and that 19" frame was just right for him. However i am 176cm tall and ive found info that the bike might run a bit bigger and im not sure if i should just get 17" one. Im worried it might be comically small or the 19" size a bit too big for me. Id like some input about it to ease my mind. I would have the bike shipped into my country so i would really like to be 100% sure before i made such expensive decision. Thank you a lot!

I’m 183 cm and have the 19“ frame. 485 mm reach is very long, I use a short 40 mm stem and the bike is perfect for me. Please consider, that the effective top tube length at 656 mm is also very long, relevant when You are seated. I would definitely go for the smaller frame. Dont worry it will look too small, it‘s a massive frame.

Thank you for this information! It is very funny to me because i get recommended 17 then 19 then 17... Im back to square one 😂

Believe me, the 19“ frame is already on the bigger side for me. It‘s a hughe bike. At 176 cm, You will not be happy with the 19“ frame. The seattube is 480 mm, I doubt You will get a dropper post installed with more then 125 mm travel. Go for 17“ mate. 😊

Also depends how you like the 'feel' of your bikes? Do you like the 'stretched out' feeling or do you prefer the slightly more 'compact' geometry?
As thaeber has stated, the bike comes up fairly 'big' and hence do you want a more 'playful' ride that is easier to throw around?

Not sure if you have any experience on e-bikes? but bear in mind that they are fairly heavy and thus you need to muscle them around more, especially on single track trails.

The E10 also has long chain stays and wheel base, hence I wouldn't describe it as a particularly 'playful', 'poppy' sort of bike, more of a stable, plough through anything kind or ride (bit like an older D/H rig).

For what its worth, I'm 184cm tall with an 84cm inside leg and ride the 19 with a 35mm stem. Its plenty 'stretched' out for me and I have orangutan like arms! I 'usually' would chose a large to XL in the 'older' geometry days, but definitely a large with the more 'modern', longer reach geometries.
I have just transitioned from a 2014 XL sized Nukeproof Mega to the large E10 and the E10 feels 'bigger' and more stretched out (slightly) and that's with a 15mm shorter stem fitted.

I used to ride a Greyp G12 and a tiny bit of Greyp G6 but only for a week, didnt own them so i never went to trail either. I took a measurement of my regular city hard tail bicycle and all this makes me believe 17.5" one is right for me. Thank you everyone a bunch. :) I am very sure in size i need now.

Cant wait to sort out the payment to Tosa and when time comes show it off here on the forums!

Your advice / opinion please before I buy from Melody...

I am 192cm tall but prefer a more trail orientated lively frame (currently Santa Cruz 5010) rather than a slack downhill rig.
In terms of sizing would you / anyone suggest:
E10 19" large frame or
E10 21" frame XL or even
E05 20" L/XL frame.

I am not seeing many comments on the E05 as everyone seems focussed on the E10....

Thanks for thoughts / advice in advance.

Rob‘s original „The Cheeb“ build was a XL frame, and he‘s 6.3“, so almost Your size. I would aks him on his opinion. The reach of the XL is huge at 510 mm vs. L at 485 mm. Head Tube is 15mm longer with the XL, so may be the cockpit would be too low for You with the L frame. My gut feeling is You should go with XL…
The reach value of the E05 frame at 20“ is only 460 mm. Thats way too short for You in my opinion, if You are happy with Your SC 5010.

1m93 (tall legs, 980mm seat hight) i apreciate a lot the XL with:

45mm stem and 50mm handelbar rise

160 front travel, 216x63 rear shock (+- 160 travel)

27.5 rear, 29 front

at begining i had afraid of the 1.3m of weelbase, but in fact the bike is so healthy and easy, no problems in short corner (with sliding the rear).

shorter may be also good, but if you have +- same seat length than me whould mean very hight forks pivot (i have currently 30mm of spacer)

thaeber - thank you - really appreciate your opinion! Had a look at the SC5010 v1 geometry and reach is actually 449mm - hence why I was wondering about the 20" E05.... stack similar too... but it is not always about the numbers, sometimes gut feel counts for a lot. Enclosing the SC5010 v1 chart to compare against the Dengfu E05. (Pretty sure you know the E10 already!!;-)

WOW - 1.3m wheelbase - makes a Mondraker look small!

I am planning mullet so appreciate the tips on the shocks. BTW, did you insert offset bushings in the shock or did the shock length sort the back wheel and BB height?

e05 has outdated geometry, I don’t recommend it
Interesting - outdated because it is not slack enough??? Maybe I am getting old, but I appreciate the feedback and agility of a slightly more vertical fork. (I do also sometimes hit the trail on a fully rigid 1990's Marin with 6" stem and end bars to remind me how to ride again - says something....)
That said, an ebike is never really poppy so I am leaning towards E10..... thanks for the input

Sorry mate I expected You are talking about the 2021 SC 5010. They massively changed the geo compared to V1, way longer reach values. The E05 geo is comparable to Your 5010 V1, for sure, but the short reach values are not really modern yet - outdated. May be You have a chance to ride a 2021 SC 5010 XL in comparison to Your V1, and You will know the difference. Personally, I‘m 6“ (183 cm) and the size L E10 is perfect for me with 40 mm Stem and 35 mm rise 800 mm wide bar. I run mullet wheelset, longer coil Shock 216 x 63 and BB is at 358 mm HA at 64 Deg. 180 mm Fork and 170 mm rear travel (measured). I ride with 30% SAG and the bike is perfectly balanced. If I would be in Your shoes, I would run the same setup on XL frame, may be a slightly shorter stem.

One offset bushing to achieve -2 mm installed length, plus some rework / grinding on yoke upper plate towards the seattube is required for 216 shock. If You go standard shock 210 x 55, You will get 150 mm travel, lower BB and slacker (- 0,5 Deg.) HA.

normal bushing, machining the link necessary, with schock more than 210 it touch the seat tube (it is explained in one post), BB height is 350 with 27.5x2.6 and 29x2.4

So the front wheel finally arrived which meant I could finish the build. I wanted to say a massive thanks to @thaeber, @patdam and @Rob Rides EMTB for all their help and advice on the sizing. I did go for the XL in mullet format in the end with the Cane Creek 216x63 coil (-2mm bushing) and it is brilliant. Especially the rear shock, with a few click of LSC to take out the bounce it is a pleasure. Motor does feel on the weedy side, but maybe it is my weight and not the motor that is the issue. Also, it does mean I get some proper exercise.

With the XL frame I am getting a BB of 360 with no pedal strikes and head angle unweighted is 63.4deg. It feels super long when you stand next to it, but at 1.92m tall it is actually just right for me and rides well - really confidence building and with the rear shock in climb mode if sticks to the loose terrain really well. Fork (170mm)

still not tuned right and feel a bit jarring but I have only had 1 decent ride so far.....I do wonder whether 160mm might have been enough?

One thing I did notice is that the distance between the rear axle "brackets" is a good 4-5mm wider than the axle meaning when you tighten it the frame "pulls in". Anyone else notice this? Does not seem to affect anything.

Thanks again guys!

Thanks mate, a pleasure to help and even more pleasure to see such awesome result! Make sure to carefully dial in the LSR on the slower side, that helped with my bike to really stick to the ground after big compressions and harsh impacts! Ride on!

Beautiful build Alan! Did you do the paint job yourself? Where did you get the decals?

Yes, after seeing some youtube videos I took the plunge.... This was my first paint job and therefore I used rattle cans and plenty of time whilst waiting for front wheel to arrive.. Paint quality would be better the 2nd time for sure!

They are not decals, I masked and sprayed everything..... Thankfully I have a vinyl cutter at home which allowed me to cut my own stencils for spraying...

I already have an assembly on wheels 27.5 and a fork with a stroke of 160mm. Rear shock absorber 210x55 on the E09 frame, with an M600 motor (a very old version, it is already about 5 years old. The M 510 was still on my Seroxat aluminum frame. The E10 and the M510 motor will arrive soon. Please tell me with wheels 27.5 and a rear shock absorber 210x55 fork with what maximum stroke can I put? According to my measurements, the fork for 29 wheels is 20mm longer than 27.5. Therefore, you can safely put 180mm of stroke with 27.5 mm. Am I thinking right?
