Does anyone know if the Forestal top tube display on the new Bosch SX powered bike is actually the new Bosch display, I assume it is not, it is probably Forestal's own development? Either way, looks nice - see below IG video: FORESTAL BIKES on Instagram: "Down-Country, electrified. Equippend with the Bosch SX Drive unit, 400WH PowerTube, Compatible with the PowerMore 250 range extender for an extra 250Wh. The e-Cygnus brings fun on repeat. #downcountry #cygnus #forestal #emtb #ride #andorra #rideforestal"

If I had to guess, I'd say yes 🤔😜

If you look at the blank off plate pics some of the frames have different size openings. Just wonder if some manufacturers got it wrong, the Santa Cruz and Crestline are the same size but the Trek is noticeably smaller.

It's strange Bosch chose Forestal from all brands to "soft" launch the display.
However, Bosch doesn't allow other parties to offer custom hardware for their systems so it might actually be the new display.
I think Forestal makes their own display that basically mirrors the phone app, their display also looks longer than most of the blank off plates pictured above. I don't believe the Forestal screen is the new OEM Bosch screen.

Is Trek the first shot? It looks to me like the plate sits in a recessed bevel that the other frames don't have. Could be something to that.

Yeah, Trek is fist shot. Just found it interesting is all that there are so many variations of blank off plate for a screen that will probably be the same for every bike.

Yeah. It suggests the blanking plate is a bike manufacturer part rather than Bosch-supplied with the control panel, which is not what I would have guessed.

Bosch is very well known for running a closed system, ie only Bosch parts will work with it. I'd be surprised to see they allowed a 3rd party display in their system.

I believe that the one mounted on the Forestal is indeed the one that will be released by Bosch, as Slavio rightly points out Bosch maintains its “closed” system.

EDIT: No, I'm wrong, the Cygnus page specifies “unique and proprietary.”:

Be that as it may, the existence of the official Bosch adapter indicates that surely something is being planned.

An official Bosch adapter already exists:

These are related to my bike, a Cube One44:

None of the above appear to have any effective seal between the blanking plate and frame and that is poor

In recent years Bosch announced new components and function upgrades in April. Availability then started in June/July. Whether the new display will be available for after sales upgrades at that time is unclear. Sometimes end customers had to wait a few weeks until the initial demand for new bikes had been covered.

I'm hoping for something that integrates navigation/gps functions and route saving/synchronization WITHOUT having to rely on the smartphone. Exactly as I did with the old Nyon.... in 2018 😐🤦🏻‍♂️

I was curious, so I bought the official Bosch adapter to see if it would fit my One44, which comes standard with the Cube adapter. Result: NO. Below are the images: the shape is the same, but the part where the screw goes in is thicker. We'll see what happens when this long-awaited new display comes out 😶.

Good to know, my SC Vala plate has the Bosch logo on it so we will see. My guess is the screen will be universal but some bike manufactures will have their own mount/trim ring. Similar to how some manufactures integrated the KIOX 300:

View attachment 155332 Are you thinking the new display will not fit 2025 cube bikes?

I don't know, but I don't think Cube -which I imagine is one of Bosch's biggest partners given the sales volumes- would make a hole in the frame 'at random,' meaning without a valid reason or exact specifications from Bosch. We'll find out as soon as the new display/controller is released 😉
