the fire season continues unabated through south east Australia as well as many other parts. We have been home 2 weeks , Mallacoota is a mess as are many towns ,we aren't the only town in trouble. Houses , Businesses , forests ,wildlife gone , not to mention mtb tracks, many built using timbers now gone and covered with fallen trees and there is still fires in the wilderness zone across the lake. Luckily we have Tathra up the coast to head to for a fix but even there at the weekend dozens of properties lost in the Bega valley. Amongst it all we have life we have unburnt patches on our property that has allowed the release of burnt /starving Koalas......just can't get away from smoke and ash.
Bruce a fire victim will always carry the scars to his ears and face.
Fires still continue today in the Nadgee Wilderness zone
Thanks for your raw & real viewpoint ryturn. Despite the heartbreaking destruction it's important to see & hear from people in the communities affected. Regular doses of reality are vital otherwise it's business as usual & Australia will sleepwalk into the next - more destructive catastrophe, if you can imagine that. I cannot.
