u can unlock 85NM for 1 buck on the app store... emaxmobile app for iphone... the developer recently added this feature for ep801 rs...
unlock speed restriction is not possible yet via the app but it is possible via pc interface
Still not possible unlock speed with pc interface using minimax …i mean not possible for normal users. Emax expert can do from remote. Implementation in minimax is still under development fo all users

My H30 540w Rise definitely "feels" full fat when unlocked, this is my current setup:
--RS profile--
Profile 1 eco (350w - 29 nm)
Profile 1 Trail (350w - 47 nm)
Profile 1 Boost (350w - 60nm)

--unlocked ep8--
Profile 2 eco (500w - 60nm)
Profile 2 Trail (500w - ~75nm)
Profile 2 Boost (500w - 85nm)

I can feel the power and acceleration difference in each mode, but since this is my first ebike I'm not certain if this matches the regular ep8 as I've read that the carbon version with 360w battery cannot push further than 70nm of power due to battery volt/current limitations.
Hi there, I am curious for how long have you been riding using the unlocked EP8 power and if you have any battery issues. My battery leaked and Orbea refused the warranty due to using the STUnlocker and changing the market. I also have e increased the power for a couple of rides to experience the difference. I boughga newbattery but I am apprehensive to increase the power fearing that the battery may leak again.

wow that is disappointing to hear about the warranty. How does changing market affect the battery, especially a leak!? !
My bike has done over 5000k with zero issues relating to battery. I'm actually surprised how well it is lasting, I was expecting to notice reduction in performance by now. Out of curiosity, how much was a new battery?

A lot of bikes have had the firmware changed to normal EP8 (85nm) by the dealer and authorised by Shimano without ruining the battery. I'd guess your battery was simply faulty and would have failed anyway.

Typical stealer, sell you a bike at a stupid price then provide zero service.

I don't ride very often - bought it back in april 2022 and unlocked it after 200km, still going strong after 1500km!
I did suffer from random power downs before unlocking, but I removed the motor and replugged everything to make sure it's nice and tight + no cables were pinched. Didn't have any issues since then + unlocking.

Resurrecting this old thread - I’ve got a EP801-RS-powered Urrun arriving any day and intend to bump it to FF power/torque. I have the range extender as well as the PCE02 interface (and EN600 display) and eMax apps ready to go.

I like your 2-profile setup, that’s what I had in mind myself: Profile 1 being stock Profile (not sure whether stock Profile 1 or stock Profile2) and Profile 2 being full fat. I’ve got a Trek Rail; what I’m looking for in Profile 2 is basically the equivalent, more or less, of a Bosch gen4 Tour+, eMTB, and Turbo. On my Rail I ride 50/50 Tour+/eMTB and use Turbo and Eco sparingly, probably 2-5%.

I’ve read reference to motor vibrations, etc, when an RS is “un-governed”to FF. The internal 540w battery & range extender on an RS-powered bike are designed for/capable of FF EP801: the Blue Paper for the the Urrun includes a matrix of components and supported bikes, and the same components are supported on the Urrun and Kemen (and the Rise) - the Kemen is basically a gussied-up Urrun with an EP8 motor.

I would not recommend to pull 600W out of the range extender. As the extender have less number of cells and would need to provide more Amps then designed for And can over heat.

The 540 Wh battery have no problem delivering FF power of 600 W. 360 Wh battery are on borderline with 500 W at low SOC.

The bike will pull all juice from the extender only when it’s connected. So use a setting of max 350W before unplugging the extender. Could use settings in profile 1 with max 350W when extender is plugged in and switch to full FF power in profile 2 when extender is removed.

In order to achieve and maintain engine performance are the battery voltage and the maximum discharge current that the battery is capable delivering to engine.
the battery has a voltage of ≥ 36V when fully charged, and when it is used while riding a bicycle, the voltage gradually decreases as it discharges until it automatically switches off at a voltage of 25V.
The 540 Wh battery has maximum discharge current 20A. This is enough for 500W power.
(36Vx20A=720W when is battery fully charged to 25Vx20A=500W when is battery almost discharged).
Therefore, if you do not want to destroy your battery, do not exceed the power of 500W !
The 360 Wh battery has maximum discharge current 15A. This is enough for only for 375W power.
(36Vx15A=540W when is battery fully charged to 25Vx15A=375W when is battery almost discharged).
This is also the reason why the new Orbea Rise 2025 has increased torque to 85Nm, but the power of the 600W Shimano EP801 motor is limited to a maximum of 500W.

What have I figured out…

360 Wh battery that contain 10S2P setup of 2170 cells. 2 stacks of ten cells in series connection joined together in parallel.

Cell manufacturer Samsung SDI or LG perhaps? SDI cell INR21700-50G, 4850mAh (very close to 360Wh. They are rated to continuous output of 9.7A. Nominal voltage 3.7V

Nominal
(10 x 3.7V) X. (2 x 9.7A) = 718 Watt

Lowest point (discharge cut off)
(10 x 2.5V) X. (2 x 9.7A) = 485 Watt

Highest point (charge cut off)
(10 x 4.2V) X. (2 x 9.7A) = 815 Watt

I don’t see any issue to pull extra 100 Watt (total 600 Watt) out of a 540 Wh battery, BUT don’t pull full FF power from the Extrender as the bike will use the extender as stand alone and it’s only at 210 Wh.

Lowest discharge out of 540 Wh battery pack (Guessing 2 stacks with 15 cells), very close to 540 Wh.
Lowest point (discharge cut off)
(15 x 2.5V) X. (2 x 9.7A) = 728 Watt
No problem for 600W FF.

The deal with Orbea not using full power is Extenders and range. Also limitation with the lighter battery.

This is all great information, thanks much. I’ve kept eco/trail/boost in profile 1 at the RS defaults of 150w/250w/350w and just changed the max for fine tune from 600w to 500w, will see if I miss that last 100w, but sounds like 600w isn’t unreasonable.

I haven’t used the extender yet - I haven’t needed it - but I can see how on the rides I’d use it I would switch between the two batteries/profiles as warranted.

An ep8-rs to 85Nm ? Yes
If you're still looking around , these are my findings :
