Ebike - Rider interface innovations

Got a UART controlled ebike with no torque sensors?

Wire it for a "throttle" wired straight into a smart display, which connects to a set of pedals with load cells:

Pedal force is transmitted to the smart display, which applies a steady throttle relative to your average pedal force; voila!

Torque sensing without motor or controller swap.

Regarding adjustability of the assist levels (an actual motor controller issue):

Why offer a bunch of configurable fields for tuning, while consigning the Pedal Assist levels to no adjustment beyond specifying a fraction total power?

Reverse that, plz!
Give each PAS level its own ramping rate, power response, & decay!

The user could choose to have PAS 1 be effortless but sharply speed limited, with near instant decay;
PAS 2 demanding more work, but assisting just a bit all the way to 25 MPH;
PAS 3 being sportier, less effort for more punch;
4 could demand almost no effort all the way up to 25;
5 of course being full overcompensating-for-something mode.

I think it's really weird & disappointing how little configurability, our motorized assistance generally offers. Makes me want to commission a custom controller for the Ultra!
