Ebike eating chains

Something is amiss. I have now put 1500 miles on a 12 speed SLX chain/cassette that was OE on the Decoy and still not even on 0.50 wear. I am 90kgs and don't take much care when shifting. I assumed that ebikes would be harder on chains but so far, not particularly. Same with brake pads which surprised me even more.

The thing that made me start being more careful when shifting is when I heard/read somewhere online that there is a bit of a 'disconnect' that you feel between the torque you put into pedalling, and the actual torque that hits the drivetrain, since the pedalling and the chainring are seperated by the motor.

That really got me thinking, even if in the moment I 'think' I'm not putting much pressure on the chain, I really don't know exactly how much torque is really being applied to the chain.
