Do people dislike turbo Levo owners

I started reading about Ebikes in 2018 months before i bought my first.
Maybe a better question is why did you buy one?
Maybe many like me got tired of reading about a third motor in the first year or 3 months.
They were just a bad joke.
Now their prices are a bad joke.
I am on Yamaha/Giant, i recharge, i smile, never a problem.
I like reliable but some BS marketing was able to sell shitty products(in my opinion).
Do read about Specialized they have 3,456 excuses.

I purchased my first ebike in February 2017. Sold a motorcycle realizing that at 70+ years old that my reflexes aren't what they should, as well as tempering my need for speed. So 5 years on a Haibike MTB with a Bosch Speed motor later, with just under 10 thousand miles on it, felt like upgrading my ride. My last acoustic bike was a Specialized Stumpjumper around 1982 or so, one of the first mtb's in the states. Loved the bike. I love technology, including digital photography,. CAD and computers, etc. The 2022 S-Works really appealed to me with its heritage from the Stumpjumper, the electronics in the TCU, derailleur and dropper seat post, the beautiful carbon frame and just about every component that really was about as good as it gets. I turned 75 and realized I'm not going to be buying too many bikes in the future, or how long I'll be able to ride. Yea, I thought that spending that much on a bike was sheer idiocy but as I get into I leave those thoughts behind as I ride and admire the artistry of this bike. So far my dealer and Specialized have been very responsive to my questions, even before I purchased it.
I am retired for the last 7 or so years from having a fine furniture and cabinetry design and fabrication shop. I mostly would not be able to afford for myself what I built my clients. So I know quality, design, innovation, and reputation all cost.

Why do people hate Specialised? maybe because they are a very successful company like Apple ? people prefer to love the 'underdogs' Unfortunately the lower priced Levos are not well equipped now compared to the competition and not many people can afford an S-works although weirdly they do seem to sell them all? They are still a great bike but maybe needs a new motor design now to keep up with the competition. I was surprised that Rob 'jumped ship' but he does get to try them all so has a good idea of which ones are the best to ride. I agree that Specialised have the best integration of any e-bike with a neat controller, no pointless handlebar display and ugly switches. (but please get rid of the turbo button, no point to it) in my opinion, or give it a secret Jame Bond style function like a taser for when your approached by trail muggers who wish to take your expensive bike off you

I wouldn't say Rob "jumped ship" . His Levo is/was a loan bike for long term testing.

His last personal bike was a Trek Rail and his new personal bike is a Trek Rail. He's also had a Decathlon Stilus which he bought as a personal bike so he could see what it's like, upgrade it and abuse it etc. You'll be limited in what changes you can make to loan bikes.

Have a 19 expert just got new frame and motor fitted in December. Seriously thinking of selling it. Broke derailier and hanger yesterday thats another £ 120 to fork out its never ending.

Just changed the motor because it began to have a slight whirring sound
New motor from eBay cost me 625 £ - Installed it myself in 30 min
It's about 10 penny pr mile
Or 14 £ pr month

+1,600 miles so far on my 2022 Levo - Works perfectly

Do all things like speed, distance etc still read correctly!

On my private land I use BikeSpeed RS - RS for Real Speed in TCU
It connect between speed signal and motor
And again between motor and TCU
So the motor do not get the actual speed and keeps gooooing beyond 25km/h

The TCU on the other hand gets the real speed and correct distance

Perfect result - I never get the cut-out at 25km/h and I can go as fast as i want on the flats

I did buy the RS+ where You can decide how the system works
My BikeSpeed is always off when I power on the bike
So I always am aware of where I use it
You can always turn BikeSpeed on or off during Your ride

The Brose TF Mag motor is used in bikes up to 45km/h
