Bosch has a new update coming with the new screen it will be on par power wise with the DJI. The new Specialed Levo also has similar power. Amflow was just first good for them because their frame is umm ewwww.
I'm sure they will. The reason I chose Amflow, is because of the starting price of the bike. AUD$9400 which is USD$5900. You aren't going to get an EMTB for that price, with the new Specialized or Bosch Motors, when/if they come out with the same power as the Avinox.

Sure I bought the hi-spec Pro for AUD$4500 more, but that was because I wanted the Eagle Transmission Groupset, and I wanted the Kashima Coated Suspension and dropper, for the Black and Gold styling.

Regarding the frame. All my MTB buddies I showed the photo of the Amflow to, didn't even realise it was an EMTB. And I really prefer the traditional MTB look they have achieved. But styling is personal preference thing. So I don't get too caught up in those sort of discussions. Everyone has their own styling preferences.

In real terms can you notice difference in the suspension when riding between the 2 bikes. Also with regards casette -will it last lot longer on expensive bike than cheaper version. As on emtbs - the torque is high. The cassette on pro version is about £760. At moment I am riding mondtaker craft r Bosch motor- changing chain every 3 mths / casette every 6 mths. I have done 4800 miles in year and half. Worried expensive cassette and chain on amflow won’t last long.
Regarding the suspension, the Pro version's suspension system may offer better performance and adjustability. If you have high demands for suspension, you might notice a difference, but this also depends on personal preference and riding style. Our PL Carbon's suspension system is also excellent and designed to provide a smooth ride.

As for the cassette and chain longevity, the wear on these components largely depends on riding style, maintenance, and the environment. It is recommended to service them at an authorized store every six months to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Have Bosch found a way to boost their motor from 600watts to a 1000watts with a a simple F/W update then?
And the NM, 85 - 120; a near 50% improvement all with ‘over the air’ software?

Colour me impressed.

Still, it makes that decision by SC of putting a 600w/h battery in the Vala even more strange. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The rumour is that because the gen5 runs much cooler than the gen4 at equivalent output, they could bump up the power ant torque. Think of it more at the system being locked to its current output, rather than them updating it later.

I don't think it will go up to DJI boost output, more like turbo: 100nm and 800w. Doesn't really need it though...

So a 20% improvement in NM. It's impressive if they manage it.

But why wouldn't they do it in the first place? I wonder what the thought process was v's now?

Maybe it was locked for reliability? if so, will it be unreliable once its had a power boost?

And still, it will rinse the smaller batteries, what were SC thinking?

And......what if DJI can send a S/W update and boost the Avinox system still further?

And rinse the DJI battery even faster? Oh, let's about that. 🤔
Exactly. It already depletes fast enough.........but DJI has all the POWER! and it's smaller/lighter.

If an update became available, would I install it?........Hell yes; I'd just have to run in ECO more often.

I was thinking ...All DJI has to do is bring it up to 48 V, and a few other things. That would mean a Higher torque constant and lower speed constant for the motor ...but they have overhead in speed, as I can tell from delimiting it.

Then there are a lot of other things, they could do, to improve this system, is my guess..... could be purposely limited as it is today, would also be my guess. There is no way anyone could use "boost" for 30 sec at a time, and then repeat, if that were not the case. The copper in the motor winding, would melt otherwise, if DJI were pushing the "limit." Its physics, and the law of conservation of energy... like someone said.

Turbo is Great don't get me wrong but a tweaked auto is amazing and still provides great battery life. I guess some people just get addicted to the balls to the walls power.
I am addicted, and I agree, "auto" at times, it really nice, for the battery life. I've only been using it once in a while, but it seems pretty efficient, when I do.

Hello everyone! I ride a Cube Stereo Hybrid TM (bosch) and an Orbea Rise H15 (shimano ep8). I recently bought a basic Amflow... Today I managed to ride only 37 km in the average tour mode! This is very little... Also, why does no one ask the question, what is wrong with the avinox motors, why is it so hard to pedal with the motor turned off? You need a force of 0.8 kg to start the crank movement...

I found That changes over time, for pedal friction, with motor turned off. Its only like that, when it is new...actually, I thought something was wrong with it, when I first got mine, because of the friction you are referring to. And it was cold when I got mine as well.... The friction can (or should be) only be coming from the gearbox, and the grease packing in, ..(bearings don't have much.) Mine smoothed right, out with some miles.

37 km = 23 miles, sounds about right, on auto, given the power it puts out but how do you have the tuning?, my orbea (with bosch) gets about the same range with a 600 wH,, both on turbo all the time.

IF I ride 100% turbo, I am getting about 17 miles with a tiny bit left in the battery.
Trial maybe 30% of the time, gets me to 19 - 20+.
Haven't tried auto, 100 % of the time yet.

Today I rode only in auto mode and realized that this mode is the most optimal and exactly what I need! My weight is 110 kg, and in auto mode the battery charge lasts me almost 60 km, which is comparable to my cube with a bosch gen4 750w motor

I had Rise then Fuel Exe, tested Levo and Levo SL 2. Have no prob with amflow. Amflow is Much better ebike. My standard amflow range 45km, 1800 vm with mix of assistance, no turbo and boost. 80kg kitted.

but 45 km is very little... Advertising tells us about much greater mileage😂

Hello!

Does anyone have experience with volume spacers in the Fox Float X and the Amflow Carbon Pro?

I'd like to make the rear suspension a bit firmer with an air shock and am considering increasing the progression to lower the air pressure.
Will this work?

Thanks
Philipp

I noticed this site is selling the Amflow now in the US. Amflow USA
While this certainly looks more legit than other importers, is it likely just as sketch in regards to warranty and support?
Hey Bud,

At the end of the day, if and until Amflow sells in the US, you can only buy it in a country that is selling it, then ship thru a 3rd party. Find a 3rd party that is legit, ... I would guess most of them are, and you can get one. (That's what I did). that's what all those sites are, 3rd party importers, 3rd parties in most parts of the World, of course, can legally import whatever they want, if you will pay for it. Which worked out great, for me...I got one here .

However, There is no warranty, if you do this in the US. Specifically, Amflow will tell you , "there is no global warranty", as they have explained to me. However, in my experience so far, they have been very responsive and proactive for offering support, regardless of the fact that I am in the USA, and I have "no warranty."

Its a huge risk at the moment, if you (and I) need parts... could only be 1 of 3, the battery, the motor, or the display/ controllers. And its a huge risk, since its new to the market... could be junk, at the end of the day. I happen to be lucky being overseas a lot for work, so I can get parts ..but for most here in the US, shipping parts via a 3rd party, will probably be a pain in the ass, and take a long time.

IN short, I personally wouldn't buy one here, unless you are willing to lose the $, you paid for it, at this time. But....If you are willing to do so, it will put the biggest smile on your face.

For me, this bike has been so freaking awesome and FUN, it has been worth every penny of risk I took, I assumed a complete loss of my $, when I bought it here. So far, I am beyond happy.

I figure worst case....Probably eventually and prematurely, it will fail, the way I ride it anyway...but will be fun killing it, or trying to do so, while having a Blast. Money well spent (for me). Better than Beer?.....well, all most, ...I don't know, Amflow has Beer Beat at the moment, for me.

This review parallels my experience - the motor and power delivery is amazeballs and the frame is extremely capable…

(+ Interesting observations about the PL vs Pro rear shock and the resulting ride plushness.)

Did 1000 km on mine, just can confirm. Enduro capabilitiy as well! No probs so far, great communication with amflow support as well.

I've got a PL Carbon deposit down, I should get one in the next batch to the UK which I've been told will be around mid -April. I should hear more this week.

Curious about the tyre situation - many say the tyres, rear especially, are not up for the task and need to be replaced ASAP.
What I don't get is that these are still Maxxis tyres and presumably Maxxis try not to make a bad tyre. The individual reviews for the tyres seem fine.

So what makes them so bad here?

I'm no tire expert, but I have noticed basically everybody doing review videos replaces the tires. My guess is the tires on it are very much trail tires, and all the reviewers are closer to hard charging enduro types. If you were going to do more casual trail riding, I'm sure the stock ones are fine.
