Delivery slot 1600-1800, no show, tracking showing still 10 drops before mine. It ain't happening. Just checked some reviews, not impressed. Arrives at 2000, no call or text, lucky i was still at home. Scratched frame, brakes useless, stem bolts missing, tools/lights missing, crap seat, what a shambles.

Mines an L and with pedals, bottle cage Andy a small Mucky Nutz front guard it’s 25.66kg
Just got mine after a faff with the delivery guys?. XL and perfect for my 5'10" frame. Box damaged and mark on top tube and also downtube where handlebars are ziptied to. The latter is fine and polished out, the top tube mark is annoying as it's a new bike. Saddle is the one with the hole/cut out and very uncomfortable. Brakes are as most says, back to knuckle jobs and will be bled tomorrow. Everything else is fine and it's one hell of a beast for sure. No extras to speak of.
One big question for you guys, the sensor on the chainstay has a white spacer behind it-obviously to put it in the proximity of the wheel sensor, but I notice there is a recess on it and lug on the chainstay that should mate up for stopping the thing rotating-am I missing something here or is this the norm on these?
Charging it at moment for first ride ?.

Just been out for a nice 2 hour ride to take the frustration of my football team drawing ?. Been learning about my new bike going up a few hills and enjoying flying up them and down again. Really enjoying riding it.

I am not surprised with the damage people are reporting I think the bike was very poorly packed with parts just thrown if thrown in at all. I think I got away with it apart from a very small mark on the handlebar.

Never seen the white spacer/lug like you have, they normally come with a black spacer and no lug.

I think i must have got lucky as brakes are good and shifting is nice and slick. As expected the saddle sucks so ill be swapping that out. Had a quick blast round my local trails this evening and barely had to go out of ecco mode.
I need to read up on walk mode as we have an interesting bridge that needs to have the bike wheeled up one side and down the other but thats all good.

After a very brief ride today. The catch on this bike is the sizing / geometry. It's pretty wild, and not in a great way (for my size)

Its Short, Low and Slack (ish).

465mm Reach (very short for an XL, I do not like), 335mm BB Height (pretty low for an ebike, I like!), 65 degree head angle (slack-ish for a trail bike, I like)

Chain Stay: 485mm (crazy long!)
XL Reach: ~465mm in XL (back wheel against wall measurement style)

Paired with the 760mm stock bar it feels pretty awkward for me to ride, 480mm is usually the shortest I feel comfortable on. I'm going to give it a chance though and try and adjust, and see what I can do to sort it out a bit.

Build quality is pretty good, parts to price value is insanely good.

Although Smart Sam tyres are not the best match for the bike. Very thin, flimsy and cheap. So add in another £80-£100 on top of cost.

Tyres need to go straight in the bin though. So add in another £80-£100 on top of cost.

Yeah, the cockpit is really small hence my comments about getting a longer stem which has totally changed the feel of mine for the better.

So tyres definitely, saddle as well it seems, what about pedals and grips maybe as well?

I'm trying to get all these in time for when my bike arrives, but stock is low for everything these days!

definitely get some proper pedals. Never use stock!

saddle seems OK to me to be fair. Grips, again, personal preference. Stock are OK. A bit thin but no urgent need to change.

I still ride with my toe-clips from 20 years ago, so it's pretty fun to have a look at what's on the market these days... I'm a bit lost, hahaha! :LOL:

Well I have done 50 miles on my bike now. a mixture of trails and downhill, yes it has a few shortfalls but for the money I believe it is a bloomin bargain. I have never smiled so much on a bike. It is my first ebike, so I have nothing to compare to but I am delighted with it. i Await the experienced ebike riders input to see how to improve things. however It is a more capable bike than I am. I have changed the grips, pedals and saddle.

This perfectly describes my situation too. Im coming to this from my trusty old ‘97 Specialized FSR so its such a big jump im probably not as aware of its short comings.
Like you i couldnt stop smiling during the ride.

Think this describes a lot of us, I haven't a clue what a short or long reach will make the bike feel like or affect it's handling .
Last bike I bought was a Raleigh Amazon 30 years ago (which I still have) So jumping onto this feels long wide and heavy but steers beautifully and is so much Easyer to peddle.
Think this is a going to be a first embt for a lot of people going by price and sales success, pity no other colours available or even 1 in the shops to test for fit finding it very comfy myself (seat excluded) but I'm 5ft8 short legs and got a large.

You are pretty spot on with this post. A lot of us have always ridden but are on a new adventure now-one that is like going down a rabbit hole the more you look into it.
The other thing that may be daunting with modern bikes is the array of expensive kits for servicing, like bleeding brakes. I am amazed that you don't need (just watch any car mechanic do this) a kit for a car or motorcycle but you do for a mtb that does 15 mph ?. I found this on YouTube and it shows a few hacks that help the uninitiated, some of it will be familiar to those of us who did these things years ago before manufacturers decided we needed special kits etc.

Sometimes, I agree, we really need the specialist tools as they are foolproof and spexific, but sometimes we are led blindly and "willngly" to spend more and more because they say we need to.
Don't overcomplicate biking, it's a pretty basic form of transport with relatively few moving parts-the worry sometimes spoils the experience ??.

There is nothing new about how you service the disc brakes on an emtb, its the same way its been done on pretty much all hydraulic brakes for mtb for the past 15 years or so, the maintenance you need to do on an emtb is no different to that you need to do on any MTB, you need to do it more often potentially, but thats about it.

Its with investing in the proper kits and tools, you dont have to buy the top end ones, just decent level, because if you make a mistake its going to cost a lot more for the bike shop to fix it!

But your right that with modern mountain bikes its not just a question of getting it out the box and riding it, a certain amount of basic set up is required first.
