I bought a 2020 levo last summer and have ridden it most weekends since and maintained regularly, i love the bike but have continued to ride it through the winter, more so with the uk lock down in November and now January February March.
Over the last couple of months i have had a few failures with water damage to the wiring, the LBS have been brilliant and fixed it the same day each time. But It does seems that the tcu and cables on the left side of the motor are vulnerable to water damage.
How are others treating their bikes, do you ride all year and part strip the bike to clean and dry it each time or is it better to avoid the worst of the bad weather?
Also is the levo sl and more developed design with better protection, it has seems to have less cables and they are tucked up in the frame more than the levo.
Thanks for any reply.

There are a number of threads on this for more info if you search.
Meanwhile................first of all you are far more likely to suffer from water problems on the electrics washing the bike than riding it,, regardless of the weather conditions. Using a hose is not a good idea ( not just for electrics by the way!). A bucket and sponge or even just a wet cloth are a better way to avoid getting water in the wrong places and forcing dirty water into bearings hubs and freehubs!

I ride my bike in all weathers all year round with no electrical problems but I have taken some precautions in addition to the advice above on washing the bike.

My TCU is wrapped in insulating tape.
I made a gasket to fit between the TCU and the frame.
The TCU connections in the top tube are sealed with amalgamating tape.
The areas behind the shock where the TCU cable exits and re- enters the frame are blocked with grease to prevent water running down the cables to the motor area.
All entries into the motor casings are protected with motofoam ( does not restrict water ingress which drains out from the drain hole in the bottom of the casing, but prevents mud, leaves etc which hold the moisture ) .
I made a neoprene cover for the charging port held on with hd velcro.
The area on the non drive side of the motor where the electrical connections go into the motor PCB is packed with lithium grease and the connections themselves are annually removed, cleaned and the seals treated with silicon lube and silicon grease applied behind the seals.

The bike has on one occasion been briefly partially submerged following a fall.......no problem!
