Hello guys.

Adding 43V 18A FW v 5.0 (so peak up to 850W ) - have not tested it yet.
Edit: Works with "old" motor version (the one where 52V version 3.2 does not work )

Yes, would work. But will be overheating when you would ride full throttle for few mins. Even on 43V it can be overheated on a medium hill.

Could'nt an administrator open a new Thread for all information about the m510 and the different firmwares with all the details to bring some more order into it? I do totally not understand anymore what firmware i could install on a normal m510 with 48 v battery and which not.
In my eyes everyone how is posting in comments should use the footer to comunicate what motor, firmware and battery he is riding before replying.

Mate, it is not complicated. You just need to wait for 48V firmware for M510. You can play with 43V and 48V firmwares, you wont damage your motor (some firmwares have high temperature cut off, or not much good power down regulation, so just avoid running full throttle for longer times). And if specific firmware is not meant for your controller ( due to hw changes on PCB or different microcontroller - we need to find out) it just refuse to flash.

I put it to github repository, it seems to be working in versions for 3.0 (same byte-lock)

upgraded battery 14s 4p, 21700 cells. installed FW 52v, and the engine works completely differently. the torque sensor detects the pressure on the pedal. power is linear through all cadences. it finally works! no more cutoff power while driving. today on the first ride spent 24%, 25 km 1000m altitude. there is still room for finishing the firmware!

Depends on BMS setup. I like when it is going down to 2.8V per cell. My BMS is not tripping with 43V firmwares, just you will start to feel some power outages and strange pedalling assist when you pushing it too low (plus some strange % SOC calculatiin then - which I dont understand as motor is only calculating % from battery voltage) . No problem if your BMS trip - when you not 20km far away from home. ;)))

I have now 20A firmware in M510 and it shows 1150W. ;)) But thats too much for such a small motor.

Thank

Not a dream, rather a heater. ;)) No reason to have it installed, when you cant use it and you will be abusing motor. Its 43V FW.

I've now been using that setup for over a year now on my M600 ( and for several years before that on the TSDZ2 engine ) and think 52 volts suits these motors extremely well. There's a real different feel to the engine from 48 volt to 52 volts and wonder if Bafang had intended all along to go to 52 volts, after all it was a voltage that the BB engine users had been using for some years.

For all those using 52 volts you need to try shorter cranks, it seems to put the motor into a real sweet spot with the higher cadence.

I ordered an M510 48v with the bluetooth C241 display from Changzhou Fieldebikes Co., Ltd on Alibaba and I received the M510 in less than a week in Florida. Awesome motor. I now have to wait for my carbon frame. I will make a custom battery to save weight.

Wow, less than a week is so fast. By air?

Write a link so as not to waste time searching for a seller.
