Dear EMTB Community and Orbea Wild riders (MY2023 onwards)!

I am sure I could find all the relevant information scrolling through couple of threads but I would like to spare that time and just ask you guys here.

Are there any major known issues for MY2023+ Orbea Wild bikes? Pivot issues, frame issues? Creaking headset routing? Cracked frames in know spots? Issues with warranty or customer service?

I am more curious about well known issues and problems rather just individual bad luck or an unfortunate case.

Thanks a lot in advance and have a great day,
Marcell
Not one of my bearings in the frame spins freely. Also I have seen a couple of alignment issues between rear triangle and frame which damaged the shock.
And paint quality is a big topic (which is the smallest issue overall).

I would only buy at a local shop which I trust. Because trying to fix these issues with Orbea directly was not possible. They always told me that I have to contact my shop/distributor. And the shop I bought it is an online shop which has very bad customer service. At some point I gave up and I’m riding a bike with very bad fitment of the bearings.

Thanks for taking time to reply, I'm going to do a bit of investigation with my bike when the rain stops. I'm a medium but pretty sure the fork crown will hit my frame as I had a quick look the other day..... We'll see!
Sorry to dredge up old news but I’m looking at getting a medium and concerned about this very thing! I will need to put the shotgun seat adapter stem spacer on the bike and from what I’ve seen the forks will not clear the frame on a medium. Anyone have any confirmation or advice on this?
I have emailed orbea and the local distributor but still waiting to hear back.

The Shotgun stem spacer wont work with the Orbea because of cable routing through the headset. I tried it, didnt work out for me.

Thanks very much for this. I definitely want an e bike to do some kids runs with so such a shame it rules this amazing bike out!

Yeah as sad as it is, this was one of the reasons I sold my Orbea on. My kids absolutely love the Shotgun seat! There are ways around the frame/fork issue with crown spacers etc but it's just a faff swapping everything (for me anyway).

Enjoy the new ebike hunt. I went with a Heckler and won't look back 👌🏻

I use the kids ride shotgun seat with the Wild, you just need to add the universal headset adapter (SIC HS02-06).

Just be aware that the fork crown may hit the down tube on smaller frames. No issue on my XL.

Epic!
I was actually able to talk to local distributor and he assured me it can be done. Test rode it last Friday and ordering the 2024 model on run out special today!
Incredible bike looking forward to riding it

I tried it with a non Orbea stem and the universal adapter and the bend of the hydraulic brake hose was to much. Also the brake hose was constantly rubbing at the shotgun when installed. This was a no for me.

Do you have any other front on/other side shots please? Just so I can show the shop how you’ve routed it.
Here's some shots of close up of the spacer set up. You can probably lose one of the 5mm spacer if your stem is a little longer (mine is 32mm long and 35mm clamp) but I'm tall with nakerd hands so need the height! I also have foam on the cables so they wouldn't be as in the way if you don't.

Let me know if you need any more.

Orbea part number is XC50.

Get some decent bearings!
Cheers that's one end sorted.
I think I have a spare in my cave. HEADSET BEARING TYPE2

So possibly this

Is anyone running 200 mm rotors? I’ve just tried to fit one and seems that frame has 203 pm rear mount. This has to be one of the most annoying aspects of this bike. Basically you cannot run SRAM rear break without going for 220 rotors (correct me if I’m wrong).

Yep I noticed that the very top of my brake pads have a groove where they aren't being touched. I have a 23 H20 that came with DB8's and 200 mm rotors on both ends. Says in the manual it's 203mm minimum size rear rotors. Pretty crappy so ship the bike with the wrong sized rotors so they could get away with shipping budget brakes.

I bent one of the lever blades and turns out you can't buy just a replacement blade for a DB8, have to spend about $65 on the whole unit. Also since the lever is just cheap stamped and folded metal you can't really bend it back without it getting too far out of shape to re-mount

Ended up ordering some TRP DH-R's to try out. Will have fun figuring out how to route the rear hose. Saw some pointers online hopefully won't have to drop the motor and battery

Any issues fitting the external battery with a DHX coil? I have just a cheap bottle cage but had to move it up from the top and bottom mounts to the top and center mount so the bottle doesn't rub on the reservoir.
I run a DHX2 coil shock and the external battery, you have to use the orbea powermore adapter plate which essentially moves the bottle cage bolts up a little to accommodate fitting the battery. I don't think it would fit without moving the bolts up.
