2WD 3000w down hill E-bike

hi all, just another crazy build from your truly.


it was a 27.5, but i re-welded the rear swing arm longer to fit 29er, and larger fork for 29er also.


stock travel was 165mm, increased to 195mm after lengthening the swing arm cuz math's.

front fork is 200mm,


200mm rotors front/ rear.

1500w controller x 2

I 3D printed a 126x 18650 holder that fits inside the frame.

using LG-mj1 (3500mah) so 126x 1600wh battery 52v (14s)

front motor is controlled via thumb throttle only, rear wheel is PAS/different thumb throttle

havent finished yet, but took it out for a test rip, around 70km/hr top speed. motors are gears for Torque and o boy does it pull hard.

Don't get me wrong that looks amazing fun and I definitely want to have a go! but also I never want to see that on dedicated MTB trails either.
Please put some decent brakes on it, those Juicy's were bad from the factory so god knows what they'll be like now

That's way too much weight in the hubs for it to be any good on a DH track and with the extra weight/holes drilled in the frame, I would send it.
Fun project, and maybe a good commute bike.

no. under full sompression its got about 3mm of clearance.

o yeah, ur 100% right.

no way you can go real hard core down hill any more with it. but thats not the point of the build. its more of a real comfortable trail bike with alittle bit of mild down hill thrown in

He's obviously a talented and creative guy who likes to make things and see what's possible and have fun at the same time.

We all know that not every bike will fit everyones needs and desires.

Presumably he's made something which fits with his requirements, long distances out into the wilds rather than burning up pedestrian shopping centres.

It is the Two Wheel drive which really confuses me. What benefit does it add, proven to be a waste of time on Motorbikes.

2wd = double the power cuz two motors.

Another huge advantage of 2wd is half the heat and/or double the cooling cuz double motors/controllers. Assuming you keep it around 1000w. I'll be able to physically go farther without the risk of over heating. Currently when I'm out with my bbshd I have to limit my self to around 500w in order not to cook the motor/controller.

2wd actually provides very little actual benefit in terms of performance. However, it does do a lot in loose dirt and sand. And especially in mud. My God in mud it feels like magic, a very strange feeling on 2 wheels.

2wd = twice the power cuz 2nd motor/controller...... how is this not super obvious haha.

Also, i can confirm after a few test rides, the 0-60 time is mind bending at around 3000w it easily out preformed my bbshd which pulls around 1800w. And best part. 3000w and no gear shifts. Love it.

I own a crf1000l and a crf250/500L. Motorbikes are for a different type of riding. Also, at least here in Canada you can't take dual sports onto trails for bicycles.
