I was told that in the US it was discontinued 2 years ago. Since model year is a year ahead of release year, I think that would make the 2020 the last version. But yeah it will probably be a 2022 Kenevo(or enduro) SL. I just wonder how much torque the new motor has and who is supplying it.

2021 might be available in Europe but from what I understand they are just 2020 bikes that could not be produced and delivered during covid.

I’ve now been told by a Spec dealer that there won’t be a new motor in the ‘March 2021’ Levo — but I’ve been unable to cross ref this statement, sorry. Didn’t say anything about Kenevo. And of course they may be just wrong...

I don't want to see a carbon kenevo, think of the cost, already too expensive and bike prices heading north enough as it is.

I think there will be an Enduro SL type bike, full carbon, and very expensive, but I dont think this will be a replacement for the Kenevo. Given the pricing of the regular Enduro, I cant see a decent spec Enduro SL coming in under 7k

If anything it would be good for them to put out a bike thats a sort of emtb take on the Status, value orientated but with decent tough components.

I would prefer alloy .
Carbon chips and doesnt mix well with rocks .

The guy that I talked too didn't say levo or kenevo but he was talking about something with an enduro style channel for the shock. If I were specialized I would just make one frame with flip chips and adjustments like the new stumpy, allow it to run a dual crown and offer it in full motor/battery and SL. The frames are almost identical IMO : )

It will be here soon, I’d love it but thinking it will be out of my budget (It’s expensive) , don’t know the exact specs but evo style FF ( which everyone’s guessing/knows anyway) . Not sure I’d want to get rid of the SL and go back to a FF and then wish I had an SL again haha.

emtb-news.de seem behind the times with seeing the patent image :) Nice overlay they did though ..

Interesting article. I didn't see it saying when the patent was submitted and I have no idea how to find that out myself. Anybody?

Also, it makes a point about fitting a motor into this arrangement. SC solved the equivalent issue with an almost horizontal shock with the smaller EP8 ‘tipped up’. Whyte (with a different problem to solve) also use a ‘tipped up’ motor. I can’t see how any manipulation of a Brose power steering motor could accommodate all this.

A new Specialized designed high torque motor to join their SL motor then? Anybody know how to find patents for one of those?

The patent shows the frame with the Mahle motor. There is a rumoured higher powered Mahle, but no patents have been seen.
