Congrats on the new Bullit! Curious how tall you are without shoes and how you feel the medium fits you?

So I will know properly later when I get back from a proper ride but I can tell immediately that the medium is smaller than my gen2 Levo expert in large. Even though the reach is only 5mm shorter on paper.

I loved the Levo and I sized up from a mudium to a large 2 years ago and it did bring on my riding as it felt so much more stable.

I am 5’9” and I can also tell that an S4 Levo would not Fit me now. The geo change with the 470mm reach would stretch me out too far.

I might have been able to get away with a large Bullet but let’s see how I get on today.

It doesn’t feel too small it just fells smaller than me Levo which has always been slightly too big, if that makes sense.

Great feedback -- much appreciated. Can't wait for the full report after you've spent time on it.

Looks stunning mate! Glad you had a good first ride ??
Hi Rob, how are you doing, yes it was a really good day, out with just Dom today at Mallards pike, you would like it there when we get a bit more normality.

Bike was great, I was worried as it’s the first non Levo I’ve ever ridden but hey it’s a Santa Cruz as soon as I could afford it I had to have it and I am not disappointed.

I am off next week and I was thinking of popping down to Surry or Swino if I can, I have a big day in Ladybower to do first on potato ally and Haggs farm etc first and then I will have it dialled in

Take care man and great to here from you.

PS, I got promoted again last year so now I am running everything in the UK, Ireland & nordics for UPS operations so if you ever have an issue remember to hit me up, it who you know right ?

Thanks D

Full report to follow, short version i was way faster than on the Levo after spending a full day at Mallards FOD, absolute weapon, I need a few beers and a stake by the fire pit tonight so I can process what just happened.
So pleased. Exactly my experience on my first ride which was on all those special places above Hope you’re planning to visit. You’ll have the biggest smile popping a PB back down that last bit of Lockerbrook to Derwent ?

Glad to hear the bike was all you hoped it would be. Curious how you felt about its size now that you've done some riding -- did it feel right; wish it were slightly bigger/smaller; how did it compare to the Large Levo; etc.? Many thanks in advance for any thoughts.

So medium bullet is smaller than a large gen 2 Levo but bigger than a medium Levo. It’s only just a little smaller and feels great. I think I could have sized up still a coped with it but it was super stable and playfuat the same time in the way my Levo never was, could be the mullet or the steeper seat tube.

Brose motor is more powerful than the Shimano, I was putting more effort in on the step climbs however after 6hrs out still had 40% battery left so no issues with range in the 630wh battery.

The turn in is sharper, the ride is plusher and the handling is more playful, I still love my Levo but I think I love this more.

Do it, you won’t regret it.

Just another Bullit, while I wait for the Push 11/6 and Fox grip2 damper :)
Absolutely loving the bike, with only 3 rides, but very disappointed with the battery range. I’ll make a specific post on that

Don’t know if you’ve tried already, but definitely need to swap out the Assegai for long days. I won’t ever run one on my analogue bike for any sort of pedal-powered ascent, only at shuttled parks for the DH grip. Same would apply to the Bullit but obviously self-shuttling at the parks instead, it’s just too knobbly and heavy for extended climbing / flats when riding natural / unsupported trails.

Agreed! What have you replaced it with?

Depends what you ride, but the new DHF Exo+ 29x2.6 is a good start. I sold my Bullit just because it didn’t fit my usage but I swap between an Assegai and DHR MaxxTerra DD or Exo on my enduro depending on how much climbing I’m doing on a ride (Assegai for zero climbing, shuttled).

I have a Heckler and Nomad now and have found the same to be true, Assegai on the Heckler just sucks the juice out of the battery. DHR or DHF Maxxterra up front gives me like 30% more range at a guess. I can especially feel the drag on the Nomad (and Canyon before it) when swapping to the Assegai which gives a good indication of how much extra power it’s sucking from the motor when on the ebike.

What a cracking reply. Thank you!
I’ve noticed the same thing with the Assegai simply by comparing riding my Levo (well a mates ‘cos I sold my Levo) with my Bullit on flat fire road with the motors off. The drag from the wheels is immediately apparent, especially if you add in changes of direction. Totally brilliant feature when heading steeply down of course and way better than the Levo’s Butchers, so I’m not moaning.
And not an issue for me on routes to date with some detuning of the EP8. And I have a bit of fitness plus I’ve somehow got down to a decent weight recently.
But your advice sets me up preparing for some longer adventures I’m planning soon ?????

FYI I listed a Shimano 630 battery with the cover for the Bullit in the classifieds. Decided to cancel my Bullit order and go with a Specialized Gen 3 Levo so I have this never used 630 battery.

Interested to know how long you'd waited for your Bullit? I'm on week 6 after the 2nd new delivery date delay and am considering my next move.

Realise it's a problem everywhere, just trying to work out if 6 weeks is "count yourself lucky mate" or others have received their Bullits relatively on time.

The impression I got was that, unless you've already managed to get your Bullit, there's no 2021stock what-so-ever at SC and all their production is now geared up for 2022 model production. Estimates on availability on those bikes is anywhere between August and October, but may even be around March 2022, if you read into what's said on the Youtube interview with the big boss at SC. I've pre-ordered mine and i'm not fussed how long it takes, within reason, as i'm hopefully not going to 'pop me clogs' any time soon.;)

I had put a deposit down on a Bullit right when they were announced and dealer told me July delivery. He also told me late fall/early winter for the Gen3 Turbo Levo but then they just became available now on the Specialized website so I bought one there and am having it shipped to my local dealer. Should be here within a few weeks. I love the Bullit, but after riding a Heckler for the last year and lugging an extra battery around, the range of the new EP8 setup would still have me lugging a battery around for big days. Hope I can avoid that with the Brose/700wh setup on the Levo. Perfect bike for me would be the Bullit chassis with Brose motor and battery. The new Levo has adjustable head tube angle so you can get it even slacker than the Bullit. Less suspension travel though.

Fair enough decision. Bought my Bullit to replace 2020 Levo before Gen 3 details came out and I’m still very happy with my decision.
Since seeing the Levo Gen 3 Geo, I think you may end up getting shorter cranks to avoid peddle/crank strikes when it’s set up as slack as the Bullit. And that’s a no sweat decision on an e-bike of course: just do it, Hope’s pretty e-bike 155’s are good on a Levo for example (crank length’s a more complex decision for a normally aspirated, but we’ve all seen the light here ?).

By S***t luck I just cruised into a bike shop to show my friends and their was an XL Bullit on the floor. Lavender. I really like the bronze, but it’s growing on me. I’ve yet to ride as I’m switching a few things like putting on a coil and some carbon wheels, not for weight, rigidity.

Just checked battery mount spacing on my Bullit as I have recently started to get E020 errors, indicating a problem between the EP8 motor and battery. Turned out it was 1-2mm too much, so adjusted the front mount as far back as it would go, also loctiting the two frame attachment bolts (although they seemed to have some kind of transparent thread locker from factory). Hopefully this will make the errors go away...

EDIT: Looks like it worked - Haven't seen a single E020 error since the above adjustment.

Guys, don't get too excited but i made a call on Friday to Richard at cyclehighlands and he had a couple in stock, I drove 720mile round drip the following morning and picked one up in XL matte bronze ???.

Give him a call, he might be able to help some of you out.

Beats the 6 month wait from SC main importer ?

i am still waiting for my bullit which was due March/April ended up buying a heckler mx xt as I figured the wife will need one but I would like some clarity shortly

Does anyone know where this cable routing spot goes? I’ve tried to push cable housing through but it just gets stuck. I’m looking for where the dropper post routing is if anyone knows. Thanks in advance.
