Working with flow suspension in Cali, 2021 fox 36 factory ebike fork does have beefed up stanchions and internals similar to 34, max travel is 160mm. Reg 36 can go170. Ordered a 205x65 dpx2 and will swap out dps 205x60. Should be a 160/160ish bike. Good times!

I wonder why they are now saying max travel is 160mm, the Fox 36 that came stock on my Devinci ebike is 180mm travel.

I have a suspicion that Fox is just trying to push people to the Fox 38 if they want more than a 160mm of travel.

The 2020and older regular non ebike 36 is up to 180mm, the 2021 and newer 36 is 170mm max and 2021 ebike 36 is 160mm. 2021 and newer have a longer left(air) leg than the damper side also. New 36 also has a rounded and kicked forward lower leg brace, and pretty sure the axle quick disconnect is on opposite side

Sorry that's not correct, my Fox 36 is a 2020 model ETB specific version and its a 180mm model. Like I said my bike came directly from Devinci with that fork stock.

Regardless, in 2020 you could buy a EMTB Fox 36 that came as a 180mm travel. Suddenly Fox says the newest version shouldn't have more than a 160mm travel. Like I said it sounds like Fox is trying to sell more long travel 38's.

Your not the brightest are you. I never mentioned anything about the 2020 and older ebike 36 fork which you have. I didnt research it at all so I didnt comment on it.So not regardless, you called me out and said I was incorrect. What was I incorrect about?

The fact that you are saying I'm not the brightest but then tell me that you're working with a suspension shop to do your suspension tells me all I need to know. Have a great day my friend, learn how to do your own suspension before trying to start shit and calling me a dumbass.

Dont get upset(I slowly stroke the side of your face), I worked with a suspension shop that had a dpx2 I wanted and they changed the travel for free before shipping to me. (Thank you for your post regarding the 60mm to 65mm stroke)I also ordered the air shaft, both oils and grease for my 2021 ebike Fox 36 fork to go from 150mm to 160mm which I will do myself. Im no master mechanic but I do have a chainsaw and have stayed at a Holiday Inn. Kisses

I converted the RS 35 Gold from 150mm to a 160mm travel and it worked well. When I went to the SR DuroLux 36 170mm of travel that made the real different in handling. If you go to a 160 or 170 you may want to remove some headset spacers to keep your bar height in there sweet-spot.

I have 3 rides about 45 miles on my MC7 now. Never rode the dps, swapped out for dpx2 205x65 and its pretty good for my lame riding. The factory e-configured Fox 36 is light years above my 35 gold rl on my analog big. I also swapped out the shimano 160 cranks for Merida 150 cranks and blue loctite on cranks bolts and replaced plastic alignment nut with alloy nut with loctite. 1st ride cranks were loose prior to loctite. Bike is pretty good soo far, short wheelbase and mullet make it super agile. The weight is great for traction but different than regular bike for small jumps and poppin on trail. Once new ebike air shaft arrives I will change the 150mm to 160mm max on the fork.

Two of my buddies have put 160mm airshafts in their Fox 36's and really like it, you won't really throw off the geo too much going up 10mm of travel. You'll slacken the HA and SA both by about 0.5 a degree. You'll also raise the BB a few mm's higher. You can probably safely go up to a 170mm front travel without throwing things off too much.

The wheelbase will also increase a little and the reach will get a little shorter with the slackened HA.

Frame and fork of my Husqvarna GT2 are well built for the money, but I had to change everything around them.
On the other hand the lacquer coating is exceptional. No any sign of fatigue through the years of riding.

And I'm not talking about the four BT-E8010 batteries (one dead after 500 km, the other are dying since the first day of use),
and about the two former E7000, and about the E8000 motor, but here it is Shimano who is guilty.

All in all, I made 23.812 kilometers since Mai 30, 2019 in FR, FIN and SE.

Today I have another problem to solve, and Husqvarna (PEXCO) and my LBS are not able to give an answer or to help.

The rear hub Formula DC-4621 has now to be renewed (32 spokes, 6 holes, QR 142 x 10, Shimano 11 freewheel)
But after weeks and weeks of searching, I couldn't find a 142 x 10 rear hub.
What to do?

Ok after a few rides I'm really starting to like this bike! I think I have like 25 miles on it only. Of course the upgrades made it much better than stock. So far I've added a DVO Topaz rear shock, Fox 38 factory fork at 160mm travel, Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 front and Dissector 2.6 in the rear (tubeless set up of course), and some ODI Dread Lock grips. Next up some Spanx bars just trying to figure out what I should cut them down to since they are over 800mm. Then seat and maybe some wheels. Brakes and drive train when it wears out.

Now I just need to ride some more trails and test its high speed feel and some real jumps!

How is the fox 38 in 160mm treating you?!! I have the mc7 and the fox factory 36ebike 150mm for is good but thinking of swapping in the factory 38 in 160 or 170mm. Im about 205lbs plus riding gear and ride rocks and little jumps here in Utah. I swapped the rear dps 205x60 for a 205x65 dpx2 and think the 38 in 160mm or 170mm would be great. Thanks for your time!

Stock length. I wasn't interested in trying to squeeze more travel out of it. If I had wanted more, I would have bought a bike with more. But I want that 150mm of travel to be high quality and feel like I want it to feel, which is what the upgrades are for.

Sounds good, I wasnt sure if you went with 160mm because you asked about the geo change and if anyone had experience. Your suspension sounds like it will be superplush!!

Nope, I asked because the Lyrik I bought was 160mm of travel, but I've since changed the air spring it bring it down to the stock 150mm of travel.

Ideally it will be very plush at the beginning, provide a lot of mid-stroke support, and have a nice ramp up at the end of stroke. I generally want to get the spring running as close to optimal as possible in order to run as little damping as possible.

The 38 with 160 is great. I'd almost say 170 could be a hair better but maybe not for climbing. If you're hitting more jump lines and not worried about climbing I'd go 170. I'm over 200lbs so I wanted a stiffer fork so the 38 was perfect.

Just last weekend I installed a 170mm Fox 38 Factory on my buddy's MC7, he's also running my spare DHX2 205x65 shock. He's a 180lbs and we've tried both a 450lb and 400lb spring and he's really loving the lighter spring. We ride Pacific Northwest black diamond and double black diamond trails. So anything from super steep rocky rooty tech trails to fast flowy jumps trails.

He's absolutely blown away by his latest setup, he said his MC7 feels amazing with this setup. And it still climbs great.

I installed a Diaz Runt and can highly recommend it. My fork now feels plush, but still supportive and without feeling divey. I'm now also running my compression damping wide open.
