So the question is, what's new on base 2020 model compared to 2019 model?

The site mention "New frame and geometry, new engine, new battery and next generation software. Following in the footsteps of the Stumpjumper, the new Levo has become leaner, stiffer and lighter. Range is increased by 40% (up to 700 Wh!) And is powered by the strongest, quietest and most smooth power on the market."

For basic model, same engine, same battery.
- next generation software?
- leaner, stiffer and lighter?
- In the specs, I see don't obvious change?

Over here 2019 is 4600 € with 10% discount, 2020 is 4800.

I think the intro text is from 2019 models, the changed only the pictures and specs to 2020

The base model fork was 32mm and now it is 35mm. The dropper post, which I don't tend to use them, does look better. I passed on the 2019 for this reason of them skimping out too much, but I think these two things make the base model acceptable now. Maybe I should have got a base model 2020 (the 700Wh battery is nice, but the price jump is pretty large).

If you'd not asked about the 2019 Kenevo's ... I wouldn't have looked for a cheap one ... which means I wouldn't have bought one .. it's amazing .. so I'd just like to say Thanks !

I am almost considering changing my 2020 Comp order to a base model since the base model now has 35mm forks and a dropper. I would give up:

700Wh battery would change to 500 (I really want the 700)
GX would turn to NX (not a hug deal)
Brakes would be downgraded
Forks would be downgraded a little
Rear damper would be downgraded a little
Model name would be less prestigious.
Resale amount would lower

But I would save between $750 to $1000. Hmmm.

@rsilvers sure you need a 700Wh battery? what are your rides like, are you a big guy, and how hard do you like to work on your bike?

range anxiety is in the head.

out in the Utah desert, Scottish wilderness etc? if it's that critical, probably need to carry a spare battery anyway.

out having fun on your local trails? having to finish the ride on bio power, when it happens (rarely), is not a disaster. I've yet to out-ride my 500Wh battery.

I am sure I don't need 700. I am 145 lbs. I plan to ride with less power. So yeah, 500 would be enough.

Longest singletrack ride I have never done was 36 miles on a manual / analog / acoustic bike. Most rides are 9-12 miles.

For road rides I have done 100 miles twice on a road bike and it was getting pretty hard for ma after about 90 miles and I averaged 16.0 mph.

I once put a hub motor on a MTB and used a 1000Wh battery so I am familiar with how long that lasts (a long time). 1000 was too heavy and not worth it.

Over 3,600 kms never emptied my 500Wh, many rides over 4 hrs. But many hope for a motorcycle focus on speed. I want the feel of a bicycle 47 pounds is enough for me. I need to stay slim and fit, my winter fat is full pedal
To avoid range anxiety i switched to a cassette with 6 more T. Cheaper and lighter than a huge battery.

I am also considering getting the base version but I am not a bike expert enough to judge what I miss.
What do you experts think about the brakes and forks?
In the past weeks I have ridden a now-defect Bulls E Stream AM 4 (BULLS E-Stream EVO AM 4 27,5+ ) with 150 and M.
I have read somewhere that the Levo 2020 base brakes would not be suited for braking for 1 finger only but require two. Also, the Bulls bike had forks with 150 mm travel. Do I understand it correctly that the Levo one's have only 110? This seems too low for trails, isn't it?
I guess it is not hard to later upgrade the brakes. Is it the same for forks?

It costs about $650 USD to buy forks.

The base model 2020 forks will be fine. The 2019 ones are much more questionable as they are 32mm which is normally only used on lightweight cross country bikes making it best for people who ride around flat areas and dirt roads.

110mm is the spacing between the fork dropouts. 2017/18 bikes had 140mm travel. 2019 has 150mm i run 160mm on mine

Dave, my 2018 Comp Carbon came with 150mm at the front and 135mm at the back.

Now running 160mm on a Pike Ultimate and 145mm at the back.

That link lists the Base model forks as 35mm 29er Debonair forks, but doesn't specify which model. If it's Revelations then all you need is a Charger 2.1 damper to upgrade them to Pikes. The damper is about £230 IIRC.

The Level T brakes aren't the best, but at least you get a 4 piston caliper on the front. You could upgrade the front brake and switch the 4 piston caliper to the rear to save some money.

Yes you could be right i know my first bike 2017 came with 140mm which i immediately upped to 160 and did with 2018 and 2019 was a set of lyrics which have followed me form bike to bike

It's gotta be the 35 Gold RL
It's a new and cheaper model, will be interesting to test. Might be similar to the 2019 Yari as the 2020 Yari gets some upgrades.

Wow. That is $500 for a lower end RS. You can get one of the best Fox for $650.

Why do people assume Fox is better than RS? From my experience the mid level RS forks are better than the Fox equivalents, and IMO the Lyric Ultimate shades it over the Fox Factory 36 at the moment too, mainly due to it having the edge on smoothing out trail chatter.
