my sx out in the wild.

had a blast the past 2 days riding the bike and getting it dialed. the bikes very good looking so if you get one be prepared to be stopped by people admiring it! I was doing some trail work and when I for back took mt bike there were 5 people gathered around her.

the rock shox ultimate fork/shock combo is awesome. very smooth. the spring is way to light for me and I have a new one on order but I never felt the bike bottom out hard and rear is active but doesnt bob when peddling. the weight and slackness of the bike make it very stable and I can feel the lower cog as opposed to the original meta power. I also am enjoying the longer tt and reach of the sx. it really helps keep me in the proper position on dh and the control I have is the best I've ridden to date. I do miss the 639watt battery that my norco has. got about 15 miles of steep fire rd climbing and descents and had about 1 bar left. I do have a back up battery on order and emailed commencal about getting an extra battery cover.

honestly I have no complaints about this bike. if your looking for a shuttle bike to do laps this is the bike to get. it rips and is so stable it makes all but the very steepest trails seem almost to easy. both my norco and og meta had the rear axle cone loose continually. not the sx! everything is tight and this is the quietest bike I've owned.

Brilliant really cant wait till I get this beauty! Let us know how you get on with the battery cover as I’m thinking the same?have you had any dealings with the lock block headset? Never had one so wondering how easy they are to setup centrally.

no problem lb ens with the lock block. dont notice it when I ride. must be there to protect the wiring. last meta didnt have it.

I'm sure I'll get a battery cover from commencal. just not sure how many email and calls it will take. the US office has very good customers service.

660€ for the battery and cover direct from commencal ?
just got off the phone with Comnencsl. unfortunately no battery covers are available in the us right now. they took my contact info if they ever get some. not that big a deal to remove the 4 ,2.5mm bolts. I'll live.

Hi, how did you fit that bottle? I have same bottle and bike :) but couldn’t fit it properly was touching hard the shock. I ended up ordering fidlelock bottle 450ml.

My holder had 2 mount points, a high and a low. I used the low mount holes and have good clearance. In the past I've actually drilled my own holes in cages to get correct placement.

Was anyone fortunate enough to buy the 2020 Ride while Commencal had the Team geometry posted, only to receive the bike and find it is actually last years geometry. They've updated the main page but the tech page still shows the incorrect geo:

COMMENCAL TECH

They've offered to buy the bike back which is fair, but it's still quite a disappointment.

Anyone just over 6 foot size up to the XL Power 29? The reach seems appropriate but the seat tube length seems like it will get in the way.

Anyone over 6 foot stay with an L and regret not going to an XL?

I really didn't intend on dropping the coin for a Team, and the SX seems like overkill for trail riding.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

getting nowhere with Commencal US on ordering a battery cover for my sx. finally got who I think is a head person there who flat out said covers will not be available for purchase here nor will they ship one direct to me from Europe.

anybody in this forum willing to help a brother out? I'll give someone outside us to order/recieve a cover then ship it to me in Oregon. feel reaching out here is my only other option. thanks! chris

unfortunately Doomanic wont be able to help me get a battery cover. He lives in the uk and the commencal cover is only available on there Europe wed site.

would any Europeans be willing to let me purchase the cover and have it sender to your address then mail it to me in the states? of course I'll cover all expenses.
thank you!

If they will ship to Europe I might be able to help. They will ship my new 2020 Team in three weeks time, so maybe they can add one to the parcel along with the other bits and pieces that I’ve ordered. If so, PM me and I’ll check - I usually find the Andorra crew quit helpful.

I’ve still not received mine yet!and what really annoys me is crc have them in stock £200 cheaper than I paid, even though when I rang them a few months ago they said they wouldn’t sell this model as to not tread on the toes of the e-sommet?

I just got my Meta Power Team 29 on Monday so I’ve spent a couple of evenings getting things together and setting it up. Today was my first day on the trail with the rig, and my first day ever on an Ebike.
I started on a mellow trail to get the feeling of it, but soon I hit my favourite trail with steep climbs and flowy downhills. I was surprised how easy this big rig (size XL) handles and it’s even more poppy than expected for the heavy weight. I got 27 km and 800 meter climb and descend on it, almost everything in “Trail” mode, afterwards the battery levels was around 50% so it has apparently what I need in capacity.

Brilliant news?I was hoping mine would be here this week as its my week off but I’ve heard I should have it Tuesday, hoping I don’t have the button trouble so quick setup maybe some invisiframe and be on the trails Wednesday? How did you find trail mode buddy ie enough support? I’ve heard some peeps use that E-TUBE app and lift it up a notch.

I landed up today on High/Low/Medium for Eco/Trail/Boost. I ran Medium Trail for the first lap but the descents were above 25kmh and medium was very much the motor doing most of the hard work on the climbs; I felt I could put more in. I left it in trail most of the time

I had been going to question how people liked setting up their assist levels but this worked for me. Trail mode still gave a bunch of support on tricky technical climbs. From switching to low I had to put more in myself, obviously, but the ratio of effort was about right. If I needed more, that was where I had boost in reserve.

I did 2hrs 20, 800m climbing/descending, 25.5km. Still had 3 bars at the end of that.

GF did same ride but with High assist level and much more use of boost. She weighs less but was down to the last red bar at the end.

I find the Eco mode somewhat lame, I think I’ll set it just a little higher, that way it could save some of the time I use in Trail mode. I mostly ran in Trail mode since it was the best compromise, I think Boost was way too much with the 300% assist. I’ve downloaded the STUnlocker, it lets you tweak a little more detailed than E-TUBE

I find that trail and boost provide similar max power, it’s just boost is extremely sensitive, giving you all or nothing.

Download Steps Unlocker and de restrict it, makes the world of difference, turning mellow peddling sections into uphill flow.

Haven’t you got a tracking number from Commencal or hasn’t it left the warehouse?
