Specialized already uses an interface plate to mount the motor, so it may be as easy as changing this plate.

The new motor will be priced higher, for a while at least. And if the battery is bigger it will have a direct influence.

The difference with the Vado is that the button/LED are on the battery.

It may confirm this:
New smaller battery (no longer has the CPU parts etc in the battery)

So 3 separate parts, motor and battery, which are generic, and the controller which is developed by Specialized.

Stubby stem would seem to indicate longer geo
I hope not. Longer reack/stack than 400/410 and 600/610 mm on M size for me are not convenient at all. I owned a Trek Remedy 9.9 2017 which was 435/595 and was terrible on deep downhill. I never reached an accettable feeling with it so I sold it after 6 months!

That's quite interesting. What's inside that battery?

It's not the standard 18650 3500mAh cells in a 36V config, because a 50 cell battery is 630Wh/17,5Ah. A 60 cell is 756Wh/21Ah. Could it be we're finally seeing bigger 18650 cells? It would have to be about 3880mAh (50 cell battery) and the complete battery would weigh ~3kg.

It's more likely 4800mAh 21700 cells in a 36V config. That's 691Wh and 19,2Ah, and the weight is probably approaching 3,5kg.

I'm hoping for the 18650 3880mAh cells, that could put the Focus battery up from 378 to 421Wh. And the Shimano from 504 to 562Wh. But I don't think bigger 18650 cells will be used for 2019.

I hope so. It was the primary reason I didn't buy a Levo.

The cockpit picture looks like a Rockshox fork like on the expert Stumpy not the Fox Kashima on the S-Works. There is obviously a computer or display but whether that is standard or aftermarket, who knows.

Looks like aftermarket but it would be strange to put something aftermarket at the Levo 2019 presentation! So maybe it’s an official Specialized accessory.

Looking deeper into the cockpit pict I would guess it’s the bottom part of a display/computer and what we can see looks like two buttons. The line in the middle looks like a separation between two buttons.

My guess would be that the new power/battery level display switch changes colour depending on what mode you are in, and that nay computer mounted on it would be a 3rd party tie up as already exists or just the bike journos computer

I have been contacted by Specialized requesting removal of pictures, which out of respect for the teams involved, I’ve removed them so this bike can get the full launch that it deserves ?.

Thanks for understanding
Rob.
Did you at least request a release date in exchange for your good will ?

Well, at least the pictures were likely valid. So far I only see good things, bigger battery (maybe smaller without attached controls), better button placement and possible led indicator lighting, display, SWAT integration, no complicated Ohlin's fork, etc
