I have been showing my riding buddies that article for a few days. This bike could wind up replacing one of my Levos, or all of them.

I think Specialized will need to come up with something pretty 'Special' otherwise there will be a load of people jumping ship and moving over to the BULLS camp. £4500 for a Brose mag motor and a 750Wh battery is a no brainer for me.

I'm amazed that there's been no press release if we're this close to bikes being shops.

Agreed...

Nice looking and decent spec bike, not to mention the obvious motor/battery upgrade.

Very tempting...

Okay, I’ll spill it.
It has a Yamaha motor in the front hub a 400w humpback tumor battery that takes up the same volume as the old battery.
They also increased the weight to improve stability.
For improved safety they have reduced the top speed to 20kph. The motor itself has an integrated brake so it won’t go more than 20kph even when descending.
For all of you purists, they went back to a traditional 26” wheel.

the 2018 was 56 lbs so a little porky compared to the carbon bikes, maybe it loses some weight for the new one

If they launch with those actual specifications they will sell like hot cakes ! I could imagine demand outstripping the supply leading to long delivery times. Is there likely to be dealer support in Europe / UK ?

I would be surprised if the lower models aren’t the same as current but with some component changes, and then the upper/s works models have the new motor and bigger battery.

So I would guess that unless you are happy spending big money no point waiting, and if you want the new Brose motor at a reasonable price get a Bulls or Rotwild.

Now this is clever!
To prevent hacking, The Mission Control app has been replaced by the MCC. (Phux sake Specialized with your acronyms that aren’t really acronyms. This is an intialism since it doesn’t make another word)

MCC is Mission control computer.

Since most hackers weren’t even born when we used relays, semi conductors and punch cards, there is no way to hack this new handlebar mounted display and controller.

Now I know what you’re thinking

“Al this is all well and good, but how am I going to fit that massive computer on my handle bars?”

Let me leave you with this new Specialized acronym

M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N.

I know right? It’s so obvious that I won’t even take the time to type it out for you.

With Specialized M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N., they are able to use this patented technology that someone else came up with, that they are suing them over to make this new onboard computer 1/3 the size of what was used on Apollo 13.

As you can plainly see, M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N. is going to set the Ebike world on fire, literally and I am not talking about Lithium Ions batteries when I say fire.
Because this new battery on the new Specialized Levo, (known internally as the Heave Ho) uses Lead Acid batteries.
These are the most cost effective cells on the market and any one can make replacements in the comfort of their own shed.

M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N. Is the future.
M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N. Is going to put Specialized on the map in the Ebike market
M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N. Will be copied by all of the other brands you all prefer
M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N. Will be available to any company for free after the initial 48 monthly installments of $19.95 have been paid.
The future looks bright!

Clearly you haven’t been paying attention. The motor and battery are going to be bigger, physically bigger. With M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N. By Specialized everything is bigger. Check out the 5 paragraphs I wrote about the computer! You think it was easy getting that spy photo looking the way I do?
Luckily the NASA guy thought I was his mother with a much shorter beard and nose hair

I was in a Spesh dealer today so I asked about the 2019 models. Apart from the Kenevos and a HT there were no 2019 bikes listed on the Dealer Portal. They said they are not expecting next years FSRs before December.

I went to tredz the day after the kenevo comp came out, and despite the fact I’d actually sat on one in another bike store earlier that day, they argued that there was no such thing!! So I guess stores don’t always get it right.

This wasn't the just store, they showed me the dealer portal.
This is 100% true. My new dealer book came last week and there are pictures of all of the Turbo Comos, Vados and Kenevos. There are no Levos in the book at all. There are no part numbers on the dealer website and no references to 2019 Levos anywhere on the site.

The information I shared with the members was told to me in the strictest confidence.
So I hope none of you will share or sell this material to a third party source.

Our society constantly wants to keep upgrading to the latest gadget. Phones are a prime example of this. Within hours of getting the latest wonder tech, we already become bored with it. All we really want is for someone to ask us:

“Hey isn’t that the new IPhone XXX Championship Edition Mark III with custom Steve Aoki cake launcher?”

“No, I am not some peasant”

I like to see technological progress as much as the next person. But I found out when I got my Carbon S-Works Levo, I just preferred riding my 2017 Expert. It’s Orange and looks like it’s from the Dukes of Hazzard.

I saw the dealer portal last week, and it was definitely on there, releases in November and December for each model, the dude spun the monitor to show me, I saw it with me own eyes!

Also went to Evans cycles two days after to try a 2018 one and they also told me they aren’t released til November and December

The 2019 Hardtails I saw had release dates in November and December, The Kenevos are available now, all the Levo FSRs were 2018 models with limited availability.
