I think there's an optimal temp, perhaps around 20C.
In 30C or higher, it starts to become sub-optimal, and you lose range. Certainly, that's the case with electric cars (which don't have battery cooling).
When the battery is too hot, you lose range, similar to when it's too cold.
I'm just...
Has anyone else noticed how much range is affected by outside temp? I would say that for a 10C increase in temp, you lose about 20% of range (I haven't done a detailed analysis). It's more significant than I would like, and I don't think the 1st Gen Levo had such a big range difference due to...
Here’s the breakdown in USD on what you get on the Founders over the regular S-Works:
- AXS RD = +$750 (this includes selling the non-AXS XX1)
- top end saddle with gold font (~$145), incredible gold leaf paint (~$1000 - what it’s worth to me)
- 1 range extender = $407
Add it up = +$2302
The...
Actually, you can’t. I did the math. Every component upgrade you get with the S-Works, and even the Founder’s, is worth it economically. Meaning you don’t save any money by doing it yourself. On the contrary, it would cost more because you’d have to sell the replaced components.
Update on this - you’re right, it’s not the fork, but the pad H spacer on the Guide brakes. I removed them today, widened them a bit, then put them back in — rattle gone! It’s So Quiet now!
Note that I also redid the stem bolts and steerer tube bolts and taped the spare chain links with...
It took a few rides, but I finally took care of all the rattles in my new Levo SL. So much nicer to ride when it doesn’t sound like a bucket of bolts!
Here are the steps I took:
1. Clean and grease chain. Sounds obvious, but I’ve fixed rattles before just from a proper chain clean.
2. Added...
Hey @Rob Hancill , can we split this thread into sub-forum threads? There are way too many topics in one thread. We are at 56 pages already. Some care about batt range: they should have their own sub-thread, then there are mechanical issues, weight questions, etc. It’s too confusing to have them...
Interesting! I had wondered about the G2 pad springs, as they do rattle when tapped with my finger. None of my other SRAM brakes (Guide, Code, Red) do that.
So you undid the small screw at the top and removed the spring plate, widened it, then put it back?
Has anyone experienced a rattle from their Fox 34 Factory fork? Mine rattles a bit unless it’s in the closed setting. Any advice on what to torque?
so far I’m not at all impressed with the Fox shocks. My rear shock is leaking oil. My last 3 mountain bikes had Rockshox - no issues in thousands...
Has anyone experienced rattling from the rear brake line? I have a faint occasional non-metallic rattle when I go over expansion joint style bumps. Does anyone else have this? I torqued all the bolts. I think it’s the brake line: if I wiggle it at the front I can sort of hear it rattle.
You should get it checked. As mentioned, I had a 2018 Levo and the SL is not louder at all. As I explained in another thread, I build speakers as a hobby, so I’m well versed in sound output, frequencies, etc.
It seems like the SLs vary in sound output from unit to unit.
I’m sensitive to noise too. I build speakers as a hobby.
To my ear, the SL is no louder or more annoying than the Brose 2018 Levo. And this is at full power on a trail with no cars or people.
