I bought the 9.8 gx axs and I would only buy a “low” power ebike with a t type sram axs system because the shifts under extreme load is flawless. That lets you shift to bigger cog while climbing the most extreme steeps. In my COMMENCAL meta power shifts happen before the hill. But the exe allows...
i bought a second wheel set for my commencal meta power with a shimano e8000 motor. mounted with schwabe g force speed tires. i use it with a friend who has a 28 mph e bike. i didn’t do anything else so yes to max power to 18-20 mph. so that limits speed on flats. i use it in western marin and...
three “upgrades”.
trp evo dh brake set. code r brakes do not have the stopping power
assegai tires with the transitioning knobs are way better for conservative riders who don’t throw the bike into each turn.
the bontrager seat has got to be the most uncomfortable seat i’ve ever owned. this is...
one of your small 3.6 v individual batteries is defective. there were discussions about this during the pandemic. there were and maybe are remanufacturers who could identify and replace the one or more single cells that are not holding charge.
did you use the trek set up calculator? i’m 175 and so i set it at 187 lbs. front lyrik 99 and rear 187. i was at 50/150 so yes it was a bit too soft. i set it at 90/180. i bet i’ll drop it a bit.
i’m replacing the brakes on my 9.8 gx axs with trd evo dh brakes. it’s probably over kill but unfortunately i just did the same to my 2019 commencal meta power and yes the bike weight is another 20 lbs but omg it’s now tap tap tap and my hands aren’t cramping. yes i’m just a coward who uses...
nw makes waterproof insulated gortex winter boots. they run a bit big. i usually wear 44 eu and if i was getting another pair i probably would size down. they are a bit clunky but the only way they are getting wet is if you step in water above the boot top. also use gaiters when it’s pouring to...
i have been working on riding off the seat. today a creak that sort of started earlier this week ramped up. when i got back to my RV i checked the crank bolts and both were loose. i’ve seen on the mega thread issues with preparation of these bikes especially bearing and other moving parts poorly...
I got the motor from Shimano USA via COMMENCAL in Colorado. Absolute bikes in Sedona did the install and the info I wrote above is based on what the technician was told when he called Shimano USA.
My best guess is that you might need to be at some kind of bike store in USA with a technician...
Ahh they were smart enough to make the tray to bar attachment square with four screws so it’s easy to secure at 90 degrees. Now needs more bungee cords.
So now that I’ve put a new e8000 motor , new bearings , new drive train etc etc if I use this dohickey I have 1000+ watt hr in batteries. Yes to the battery still isn’t completely secure so more mcivering is called for. my second e bike ( when I finally buy one ) is planned on being way way...
