Trek Fuel EXe vs Cannondale Moterra SL

Doubt I could even ride without the supplements, updated my other post with some other ones I take which I forgot! They altogether make a huge difference to me. I get close to PEM on my longest ride days if I'm pushing myself and feel good on the day, the easiest time to overdo it lol! (About...

What width bars are you all using and why that width?

I would love to know the story here! 😆.

    Speed sensor for centerlock hub

Nice work, glad it worked out for you!

    Speed sensor for centerlock hub

Sure, I'll try remember to next time I'm down in the garage.

    Speed sensor for centerlock hub

Hope that works out for you, let us know. For anyone else with a similar problem to me, I tried the Shimano Lockring with Magnet EW-SS302, for my Cannondale Moterra SL with an EP801, didn't work at all, threw an error so sensor wasn't picking up the magnet whatsoever. My mechanic ended up just...

What width bars are you all using and why that width?

Cut down to 760 now, way prefer it. Who knows if they will go even narrower. After some time on 770 it stopped feeling so nimble and started feeling wide and restrictive again.

All right, sorry chaps. You both clearly have larger phallus, ahem, more mud, than me. I admit it 😂. Sorry I don't get as muddy as you guys. I'm in the UK too, I just have very flexible riding days so avoid a lot of the slop in favour of sweet grippy mud! I just meant some mud rather than none...

My Moterra SL featuring the appropriate amount of mud. Might clean something other than the stanchions and drivetrain this year if it's lucky, who knows!

Should I get a motocross helmet or a full face mtb helmet which one would be better

I would get a light, sub 1kg, MTB full face if I were you. They can be tiring enough on a long day out, a hotter heavier motorbike helmet would probably suck. I had a moped helmet when I got into MTB, and straight away knew I wanted something lighter when I thought about using it for MTB!

Any experience with Moterra SL out there?

Sounds like an issue, my battery hasn't gone under half all winter, or had a single issue. Plenty of 0-5C rides. Tbf I don't do long distance rides but ride my version of hard for a good 3 hours, albeit with a rest break after every line and every climb back to the top, and do all my climbing in...

Trek Fuel EXe vs Cannondale Moterra SL

Sorry I'm late to the party. I suffer ME/CFS with energy producing issues particularly in mitochondrial. I also get very sick for 2-3 days from over exertion. Hard Cardio for more than a minute or two makes me ill fast. I only got into emtb due to the illness and the need for support...

What width bars are you all using and why that width?

Not sure I agree about longer slacker bike needing wider bars. With a 32mm long stem, 62.5 HA and 1280 wheelbase slowing the turning on my bike. 770mm seems to be my sweet spot. 780 still turned like a barge, it drops into corners so much better now at 770! Long slack bike has a worse turning...

Any experience with Moterra SL out there?

Nice, that's a good tweak! I put mine in a bike stand for the same outcome of not having to hold the bike, but yeah clamping the stem at the top of the steerer can work too. Hope you enjoy the new head angle! At least it's easy to change if you prefer the old one too :P.

Any experience with Moterra SL out there?

I've done it myself, and it's actually really easy thankfully, (I know little about headsets haha). It's the outermost top and bottom cups you have to rotate, and you don't need to remove much at all. Just take off the stem completely, and then you can do it all with the fork steerer tube still...

Any experience with Moterra SL out there?

Interesting, I'm also getting along with 38mm rise bars, and 2 stem spacers underneath. I ride short mini gravity trails, just a few minutes descending, usually packed with features, jumps drops berms etc, but nothing massive, and no switchbacks. Then I whack it in turbo and rip back to the...

Any experience with Moterra SL out there?

Nice Rhitter, glad you are enjoying and have made the bike work for you! I changed it a fair bit to suit me as well but in quite different ways to you. I got the SL2 white cheapest spec. Found all the main components plenty serviceable. However, the bars, stem, cranks and wheels were all so...

Any experience with Moterra SL out there?

How do you put it in 63.1? Is that actually a thing? The manual only shows 2 configurations, slack and steep. Each cup only has one notch as well, I just swapped mine from steep to slack. It's so easy to change! The front end felt a bit short for me in the steep setting (6ft, 6ft 1 armspan...
