I just wanted to share my experience with this new firmware. I have the 2023 H10, Rise and took it into my LBS for the new firmware. At the same time I was trying to have them set the motor to 85NM, but wasn’t successful. Now I’m glad I didn’t get the 85NM!
With the new firmware, I set my bike...
I took my 2023 H10 in for the update and stood by while the girl did it. I’m glad I stuck around, because I figured it out for her. Fortunately this adapter was included with the new stuff they ordered, in order to hook up my bike to their computer. Worked perfectly!
Thanks for the reply, Beerider. I took min in this morning and got the update done. The girl that did the update was unable to change it to 85NM though. She called Shimano and they told her they can do it, if they take over the bike remotely. They needed the bike shop’s Shimano customer number...
Hey Beerider,
Is your Rise still at 85NM? If so, I’m just wondering how your bike is holding up. What kind of range are you getting? I’m thinking about having my LBS load the 85NM firmware on my 2023 H10.
I’m thinking about having my shop, up mine to 85NM also, when I get the 4.3.0 firmware update. I loaded the update with the app, but it doesn’t include the overrun, etc. I spoke to a representative at Shimano about it and he didn’t have any issue with loading the 85NM firmware. The only thing he...
Great video! Too crazy for this old guy, that’s for sure. Glad you made it down safely. I’ve been on rides, where I want them to be over. Lol! God is good!
Is that up Hwy 108. I think I heard someone reference, Pinecrest. I love that area! Was your bike new? If so, what a way to break it in!
There are some great deals out there right now for the 2023 Orbea Rise. They do have alloy framed models. They are the “H” models. I just got a 2023 H10 Rise for less than $5K, US. I had a 2021 M10 that I paid more than $8500. I really like the new one, because of the larger battery.
I’m 65 and I’m learning also. Mostly learning, not to crash! Let me know if you would like to ride sometime. I live in Fort Morgan and frequently ride at Lory SP and Horsetooth.
Yup, that noise sounds familiar. I’d hit some rough stuff and it started making the noise. I thought for sure that the motor was toast. I discovered that the chain somehow ended up out of sync with the narrow/wide jockeys wheel on the derailleur. The chain was just a little worn I guess, because...
My Rise now has over 4300 miles on it and the noise seems to have gone away. When it was happening, I had a lot fewer miles on it. One thing that I noticed, was that when it was making the noise; If I stopped and pulled the crank, side to side, it would almost always make the noise disappear...
While I can’t take credit for this, because I found this somewhere. Just install a front fender on the back. It’s longer and protects this area really well. My only regret was not finding out about it sooner. Notice all of the rock chips.
I have an Ultra and would be happy if I could somehow get the heart rate data over to my Garmin 130 plus.
Also, I’ve had some large discrepancies on average speed and elevation gain between the two.
It’s funny! I was talking to my brother the other day about this subject and we were talking about the bikes we had as kids. I had a schwinn 5 speed fastback. We rode bikes ALL the time. That’s all we did as kids back then. I would say that I had 10’s of thousands of miles on it before it was...
The Ergon Core Prime. Expensive, but worth every penny. Although they’re for ebikes, I have one on my analog mtb also.

They can be hard to find though.
