Is it me? Second faulty EP8 after 315 miles total…

I’m currently at 3724 miles on my Orbea Rise. Though, about 70% of those miles have been pretty much on gravel. I haven’t had any issues yet. When I do get to the mountains, some of the trails are over 20% grade, so there’s a lot of load put on the motor for sure. I wish we lived a little...

    New brakes

A personal experience for me, after I installed 203 mm Shimano IceTech rotors and the IceTech finned metal pads front and rear on my Orbea M10 Rise, was as follows. I used the XTR series spacers also. After riding it a few hundred miles, I took the rear caliper off, to bleed the brakes. The...

    Best orbea rise light tyre

The combination that I just installed is a Maxxis Dissector 2.4” in front and Maxxis Aggressor 2.3”, (fast rolling) in the rear. I think it works perfectly! I recently put them to the test on some very Rocky trails, here in Colorado. Some pretty substantial rock scuffs, but they held up. I like...

    Rear Mud -Guard Options

RRP Front Mudguard work really well on the rear. As you can see in the photo, there are a lot of rock chips that could have been avoided, had I installed it earlier.

"It's me not you". A AXS story.

I too was having a hard time adapting to the AXS controller, because my other bikes are standard Shimano. I left mine configured, as from the factory. What I did do, is a lot of trimming down of the paddle, as you can see in the pictures. It now feels very close to the standard Shimano shifter...

Rise H10 - "clicking" noise when pedalling

I live out on the plains, but have been riding at Lory State Park and Horsetooth/Devils Backbone quite regularly.

Rise H10 - "clicking" noise when pedalling

Yes! Here’s a post from me a while back. Oddly enough, I haven’t noticed it recently. It seems to have gone away. I see you’re in Colorado. Where do you ride? Post in thread 'EP8 RS motor noise on Rise' EP8 RS motor noise on Rise

Who’s kept their acoustic bike and why?

I’ve been riding emtb’s for about 3 years now. I agree with many of the others. I’m glad I didn’t sell my analog bikes, because they get the majority of my ride time. As others have stated, it’s kind of nice to have a lighter, more nimble bike sometimes. Also, some places here, still don’t allow...

Anyone has tried to upgrade the rear disc/rotor brake to 203 on the RISE? How about the speed sensor magnet?

I answered my own question today. It works perfectly. I put one of those bolt lock tab things underneath the magnet to raise it up a little bit and it sits just right on the RT-86 rotor.

Anyone has tried to upgrade the rear disc/rotor brake to 203 on the RISE? How about the speed sensor magnet?

I’m planning to do the exact same thing on my M10. Any chance you can post a picture of your rear rotor and the magnet? My only concern is because the stock Galfer rotor is completely flat, but the RT-86 Icetech rotors are contoured around the bolt mounting surface. Just want to see how the...

Unanswered Do I need to change tyre?

To me that still looks really good! Do you think I should change mine?😂 I have more than 2700 miles on it. A lot of gravel, but a fair amount in the mountains.

Clicking noise from backwheel on new emtb.

Exactly!! I like a loud freehub for that very reason. Coming down some tight single track, folks will get out of the way faster. It’s a safety thing!!😂

EP8 RS motor noise on Rise

Has anyone else noticed a clicking noise while pedaling, when you just start riding? It seems to go away after a few miles, maybe as the motor gets warmed up. I stopped a couple of times and pulled the left crank at the clamp area, (where it attaches to the crankshaft). I noticed quite a bit of...

ebike reliability study shows that Shimano Steps System is a total disaster

Here’s what I know from personal experience… I HAD a Niner rip-e9, which comes with a Bosch Gen4 motor. At approximately 2000 miles, the motor was making a terrible racket upon hard acceleration. I jumped through the many hoops, (I believe 5 or 6 of them) that Bosch required of me, at a...
