Zero problems on my 2018. Great bike, top components. Looks dated with the battery hump...who cares? Surprisingly a lot of people do. A fellow rider of mine bought a next gen (internal battery) for a fair bit more than I paid for. He keeps complaining about fork (34 something) and shock, wanting...
Thanks Steve,
I think you have a very valid point here. First thing I did was to check the hanger for damage with my EyeBall Mark2. (you as an engineer know, what I'm reffering to). No obvious bent on hanger was observed, so my LBS went with my assesment that hanger is good.
Given that the...
Hi guys,
On my last ride I did manage to insert a piece of hardwood tree branch between cassette and rear mech cage. Limped back home in one gear. After reset of Di2 the gears started to work (sort of) with lots of skipping gears. The jockey wheels were out of whack as the cage was bent...
Few years back I used Greyhound Freight Au, to get bike from QLD to NSW regional, price was reasonable.
Also used TNT (we have business account) it was very cheap. Not sure if they deal outside business environment.
Just replaced my front Minion DHF 2.6" with a Continental Der Baron Project 2.4". The tyre is setup tubeless. It runs untrue, shoots to the right by aprox. 2mm over 60-100 mm. Visible by naked eye, bloody annoying. The wheel rim is perfectly true.
First I thought that I didn't seat the bead...
Funny I was just talking this morning about Merida prices with my LBS (Merida/Trek/Norco dealer). He's adamant that Merida outpriced themselves from competition (traditionally Giant in Australia) with their carbon frame/internal battery design. When e160 900E came out as a flagship he had 23...
Any bike, not just ebike, will have too much torque for Di2 when shifted under load.
I have nearly 2000km on mine Di2, still butter smooth shifts. But I do not pedal when shifting. Not when going downhill or flat let alone going uphill.
Once 2020 Merida range was unveiled late in 2019, I did get 2019 900E. Without much hesitation. And glad I did it. External battery hump doesn't faze me as I don't see when I'm riding it. Awesome bike, and in Australia the price on outgoing 2019 models was absolute bargain considering the...
30km round (hilly) commute trip 5 days a week. Swap to original wheels on weekends to hit local trails. Why would I buy cheap commuter, lets get my money back by using the expensive bike as much as I can.
I can do my fork and shock maintenance, 5 years worth of chains and cassettes is still...
I'd put the highest priority on having ebike with local support. Lots of things can (and will in time) go wrong with this relatively new technology. Sending bike with error code interstate is not fun.
Another vote for Schwalbe Moto X.
I've done ~2000 km (2.4", 27.5) without any flats, super hard wearing, I reckon they will last me easy another 2000 km. I don't think they are tubeless ready, but Schwalbe makes some light 27.5 tubes I'm running them with. Very happy with these, will buy...
Not sure whether price is competitive for Al framed (LTD edition) bikes.
Just checked e160 Aussie stock: RRP of $6699 gives you internal battery, RS 35 Gold fork, RS Super Deluxe shock, SLX drivetrain, MT-500 brakes, Merida Comp wheels.
In November I paid $200 less for external battery, Fox 36...
