Yep, our group rides all winter, so night riding is standard. Most of us are running Exposure lights of some sort because they're rock solid and bright. I have a MaxxD on the bars and a Zenith on the helmet. Ludicrously expensive at RRP, but discounts always come up and the performance is...
An 11 kg difference when the rider is likely 85 kg + with kit is not much of a difference overall. Total braked weight might go from 100 kg to 111 kg. Certainly not enough to explain increased brake wear over all. I think the OP is right, much more likely to be an increased in carried speed...
Why do you think that is? Are you just running faster? An e-bike all up is only going to be 8-10% heavier than a regular Enduro, so it's not the weight.
I dropped about 10 kg of Sold Secure Chain and padlocks off at the pub last night. Hopefully will be a bit harder for someone to cut and run this evening. Wish us luck! :)
A friend just got 49% off a Trek 9.8 exe and 0% finance. That said, his demo bike was one of the bikes stolen last night and recovered today (finalising size), so he nearly had an incredible deal on a bike he only rode once!
Well that was an exciting but weird evening. 3 of our bikes got stolen from outside the pub tonight. Two guys cut the locks and threw them in a van, got disturbed so didn’t get the rest.
Bystander got a description of the van and a partial plate. Already tipped the police off it was a Bristol...
I had some 7IDP Enduro pads which were good, but I have really skinny legs and had to pull the lower band up over my calf muscle for them to sit right,. As long as I did that they were very comfortable and had excellent protection. Sadly I appear to be allergic to something in their...
Pedalcover.co.uk were excellent about clarifying the exact spec of the bikes I had stolen, and offered me a very, very fair settlement.
Can't imagine that anyone would include a derestriction chip in cover tho, given their use in the UK isn't legal. You'd almost certainly have to swallow that...
Strong? Light? Cheap? Choose 2.
Motorbikes don't have to be (as) light, and that makes a massive, massive difference to costs. Everything on a good mountain bike is at or past spec in terms of weight / strength. You can buy a full suspension bike from Halfords for peanuts but it'll be horrible...
I'm not sure I see e-bikes as a market where gouging is or even can be a thing? It's a bit like saying Bentley are gouging as a "similar" Skoda SUV costs less.
There are plenty of cheap e-bikes suitable for getting from A to B. Some of us do this e-bike lark for fun and have the budget to...
Two things have alleviated my pins and needles in hands. I moved my brakes further down so that my wrists were not as cocked back when on the brakes. I then fitted the ridiculously expensive Revs grips. The combination of the two, the latter on day three of an Alps trip, have massively reduced...
Haven't used that mudguard, but do use the MudHugger rear guards on both bikes and the fitting looks similar.
I've never tied the guard to the cross brace, and they've never moved. However, you need to really thoroughly protect the seat stays or the vibrations will make the guard eat into the...
