    Eone Sixty 800 dropper post

Thanks Peter. Good to see how you’ve got it set up. Agree re Trail. Same here - use it most of the time. I’m going to have a look at it today. Will try lubing the cable first to see how that works. Then maybe strip the post and relube everything and take it from there. I see you have also...

Solo Riding Safety device trackers a - which ones to review?

You can classify these devices in various ways: Needs a phone (either as an app or device paired to a phone) vs stand alone device Needs mobile network coverage vs satellite Provides voice communication vs just an emergency signal/message of some sort Needs manual activation vs automatic...

    Eone Sixty 800 dropper post

Any chance you could post a picture of the lever Peter so I can see how you mounted it? Did you replace the cable outer as well?

Yep there's a good YouTube video on it. Did you change out the switches as well?

    Eone Sixty 800 dropper post

Did you bother to pull the post apart and relube or just replace lever and cable? And presumably you also changed out your motor controls so the lever would fit under the bar?

    Eone Sixty 800 dropper post

Cool. Thanks Peter. I'll check it out. I've got a Trance I never use now (LOL). Maybe I'll swap it over :)

    Solo riders word of caution

The trouble with Apple Watch is that the fall detection is tuned to detect falls rather than bike crashes - and the dynamics will be different. I've done a fair bit of work with similar devices for the elderly and false positives are an issue. Fall detection is inherently difficult. I haven't...

    Eone Sixty 800 dropper post

Can't seem to buy it in this part of the world :(. I've heard chain dry lube does a pretty good job as well. I might pull the post apart as well and relube everything.

    Eone Sixty 800 dropper post

Thanks guys. Yeah it seems to be just the lever that’s stiff. The post goes up and down OK. So might just be the cable. I’ll try some Rock n Roll lube first. How the heck do you replace these cables?

    Eone Sixty 800 dropper post

Thanks guys. Pretty expensive option to replace the whole post. I’d like to repair it if possible. Do you think it’s a cable issue then rather than a stiff post mechanism? Seems a few people have had this problem.

    Eone Sixty 800 dropper post

Hi all. The dropper post remote on my Eone Sixty 800 has become very hard to operate. This is the Merida dropper post. I figure it needs lubricating somewhere. Haven't done this before. Any ideas or tips?

Article All new 2020 Merida eONE-SIXTY

I can see the logic in what Merida have done re the battery though. Getting the battery out quickly is a plus in my book - and being able to carry another battery when needed is a big plus. Re price - for some reason you guys in the UK seem to pay higher prices for Meridas than we do down under...

Article All new 2020 Merida eONE-SIXTY

Looks awesome! Addresses most of the concerns/upgrades made by the eONE-SIXTY guys on here. Agree re the battery. Shame it isn't a bit higher capacity. Maybe Shimano will come up with a bigger capacity with same form factor. Looks really expensive though compared to the original. Waiting for...

Good but lightweight and compact lock

I use a Bordo Alarm. It's a medium duty foldable lock with the added bonus of having an alarm built in. It's heavy enough to deter most thieves but not super heavy for carrying. Perfect for those Cafe stops. I usually just strap it to my top tube with Velcro straps.

    Hi all new bikes questions

Welcome Mik and well done on the purchase! You're going to have a lot of fun. I'd be inclined to try out the standard tyres and see how you get on. My wife and I use our MTB tyres on the road a bit and they are fine. Maybe not in the wet so much but we don't do much riding in the wet. Having...

Recharging in the field on multi-day trips? Possible?

I've rigged up a system to charge our Shimano batteries (Merida E-one Sixty) using a solar panel, caravan house battery and 12V to 230V inverter. This uses the standard Shimano charger. But this requires a large 12V battery, solar panel and in my case an 800W inverter. All up cost was less than...
